Re: The States: Why does Minnesota wanna be Kansas?

You invalidated your whole argument and proved Rover right by using Trump as your example. Just because they did it doesnt mean we should. It is like the morons that want Oprah to run for President...

And don't even get me started on Michael Avenatti.

Re: The States: Why does Minnesota wanna be Kansas?

Meanwhile in Michigan: the GOP publicly admits it's looking to pass $12/hr minimum wage AND worker friendly time-off rules ahead of the November elections, just so they can neuter the bills via simple majority rule and not 3/4ths rule if they are ballot initiatives. Also publicly admits this is to decrease Democratic voter turnout.

Not really surprised by this. I love this state; I just can't stand the government.

I doubt he was going to be reelected.

@FoxNews: JUST IN: Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announces he will not seek re-election https://fxn.ws/2wOHEbV
I am a little surprised. It would have taken a formidable opponent to get him to back down like this.

This also makes me wonder about my job this winter, as construction pushes are hot an heavy even in winter in political hot spots that the incumbent mayor wants to get votes from (generally the "neglected" neighborhoods).

Good riddance. Emmanuel has been a disaster in any job he's ever done and I blame him personally for persuading Obama to jettison Howard Dean after 2008 when it was Dean and not Emmanuel who was the architect of the Dem congressional and statehouse victories in 2006 and 2008.

THANK YOU for pointing this out. DWS was a disaster for the Ds.

Yeah, Rahm is a joke. A mistake Obama made just to give favors to a local buddy of his.

As a liberal (or whatever the fuk I'm supposed to be these days) I feel a vested interest in having a government that works. That means incompetent members of my own party need to go. Emmanuel being a notable example. With few exceptions, almost every Republican in charge of governing on an executive or legislative level is a Titanic level disaster. I need my Dems to be much better than that. Most effective Dem Gov IMHO is Jerry Brown for example, a guy who took a state previously thought to be ungovernable and whipped it into shape. Inslee, Cuomo, Hickenlooper, Wolf - all seem to have gotten things to a better place than where they found it. On the flip side Malloy whether his fault or not has been ineffective in halting CT's slide, so he needs to find new employment and not represent the party anymore. I care not if the Dem in office is a flaming liberal (Brown) or alleged moderate (Cuomo). Get the job done according to broad Democratic principles (as in you need not implement single payer tomorrow to be considered effective) and I'm happy.
