The States: Where We Wish Texas Would Secede Already

My girlfriend can get pleasantly high on 5 mg, even on a full stomach. But I need at least 10 on a full stomach, and more like 15. So yeah, it depends on a lot of things.

Depends on body tolerance and metabolism.

As Jim said that kind of depends. I will say this 5mg and a whiskey will make your night quite the party :)

So give me a sort of basline. Like, what's the equivalent of "a drink"?

I know a beer isn't enough to get the vast majority of people drunk, but like, 8 oz of beer, 4 oz of wine, and 1.5 oz of hooch per hour is what I've always remembered as a sort of guideline for most people. Is there a sort of analogous amount that would be considered high or buzzed?

Well the problem is edibles get digested at different rates and different types might take longer to get going. Some hit your bloodstream in 30 minutes, others can take up to 90. (the THC drinks can be even faster than 30) It isn't like booze where it is all rather similar.

Lets say the average gummy (just for arguments sake) takes 60 minutes. 5mg over 60 minutes for a recreational user will probably get you decently buzzed. (add in say 2 oz of hooch and you got a nice 2 hour high going) Not baked or anything but you will be in a land of happy little trees if you catch my drift. If you jump to 10 (which is usually where I like to be) that is when things start to get a bit...umm...hazy.

Unlike booze though sobering up so to speak is also a different process. If you start to mellow out a bit you dont need to pop another 5mg or 10 to get back to where you were so it is important to keep an eye out otherwise you end up like me in Vegas sitting in front of a slot machine at 3am and the 3D effects are boggling my mind!

Also, it depends what kind of THC you are doing. Sativa and you will be partying like it is 1999. Indica and you are gonna chill out on the couch watching TV eating pretzels.

I mean...that is what I heard ;^)

lol thanks. I think that's more clear.

Edibles are one area where I think I'd like to see a little more regulation around labeling and what exactly "hybrid" means, because almost all modern weed strains are hybrids of both indicas and sativas, usually leaning one way or the other. With flower or concentrates you can always look up the specific strain and its properties on the Internet, but a lot of edibles are just labeled "hybrid" with no named strain, so you don't know for sure until you try them. That's problematic for people with depression and anxiety disorders, because sativa-leaning strains are more likely to trigger their symptoms and, well...they're gonna have a bad time. Especially with edibles, which hit the hardest and last the longest.

*ahem* Or so I'm told.

Very helpful. But what do I need to see god?

My gut tells me you can help.

It ain't much, but plenty for some. I like how I've seen a few people put it: "Leave it to Minnesota to 3.2 weed."

While that is funny, the entire premise is wrong. First of all Delta 9 is not Delta 8. (that would be the "3.2") Second, dont believe what you read 3.2 beer is not a thing and hasn't been for a while. What you see at gas stations and grocery stores is mislabeled regular beer. The fine for labeling it wrong is cheaper than actually producing the lesser beer.*

*for macrobrews like Bud or MillerCoors

Learned that from a few different distributors.
