The States: Where We Wish Texas Would Secede Already

Only knock on Oregon is the ridiculously low speed limits. It’s 70 MPH south of Olympia on I-5, why is it 65 MPH south of Portland?

Probably left over from environmental regulation. If I had my way it would be 90 everywhere. I want the drunks to wreck clean off the highway, like the Autobahn.

Illinois drivers have been the worst I've seen. Indiana drivers are Illinois drivers dialed back about 20-30%. North Dakotans are fine, except they can't park, especially in the winter. Texans do fine on regular streets, but on the highways either go 20 over or 20 under the max speed limit, and have little issue using an exit only lane to pass someone and merge out at the last second.

Every time I've driven through Oklahoma recently, I always see about 15/20 cars abandoned on the side of the road. And they've all been there so long, their hazards stopped working.

The worst drivers I had to deal with were people in Montana/Wyoming around Yellowstone. I will assume the vast majority of them were tourists with rentals.

My biggest issue with Michigan drivers is they will drive slowly in the left lane and never go back to the right lane ever. Even when nobody is around.

We need to face off Illinois drivers with Massachusetts drivers. Mass drivers:

1. Are not competent drivers
2. Are aggressive
3. Are entitled
4. Are actively hostile to regulation
Geez, you list these traits as if they are bad things! In a state where 93 North is also 95 South (or 128 if you've been here long enough), point #2 necessary for survival.

I drive a 2007 Honda Civic, and since my car can go 80 without much effort, I've been spending more time in the left lane lately.

This is funny right now because I drove the full length of Michigan a few weeks ago on a near empty freeway and had to complain to my wife later, because I was slow-driving an overloaded trailer with an underpowered Jeep, and every single car that passed me cut back in to the right so fast that a couple nearly clipped my bumper. Without another vehicle in sight. I figured the windshield splatter was their payback for having to go around me.
Florida freeway drivers are stupid. The truckers will not use the right lane at any speed, the locals WILL NOT EVER use the wide open left lane to pass at any speed, and the idiot spring training fans and spring breakers from everywhere are completely random. There’s just a huge variance.
But we all know that Chicago is the worst.

I love that stretch of 128 (America's Technology Highway) because at that instant it is running East/West. That was where the turnoff to my old GF's house (Braintree) was, and the first place in my life I witnessed a driver miss an interstate offramp, stop his car in the traffic lane, reverse, drive backwards 500 feet, then take it. Extra points that there are exits on that stretch about every mile.

Iowans flat out run red lights/ stop signs more than anyone else (and not just gunning it through a late yellow variety, like light has been red for 5 seconds). Like not common by any means, but I went years on the east coast without seeing that particular violation but see it probably once or twice a year here.

Vermont drivers just drive 55 in the left lane in their Subarus without a care.
Left lane? What's a left lane? It's the tractors driving 25 in THE lane that really buggered things up there.... Well, and the leaf peepers for a month.

It's a thing in Minnesota too. It's the stodgy old German guys who think they're entitled to the lane.

Ugh Minnesota Drivers set the friggin cruise control to the speed limit and just sit in the left lane. Then wait until you signal to move over before they get out of the way. (usually blocking you)

They're still going to trial. Just one charge was dropped.

https://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...ts/7043657002/

"Judge Michael Klaeren ruled there wasn't enough probable cause in the case against Pete Musico, 43; his son-in-law, Joseph Morrison, 26, and Paul Bellar, 22, to send charges forward for communicating an act of terrorism. His ruling came at the conclusion of their preliminary examination in Jackson County’s 12th District Court.

...

However, charges for providing material support to a terrorist act, a charge connected to gang membership, and charges of carrying a firearm in the commission of a felony were bound over to circuit court, marking the end of a multi-day hearing for which testimony was held earlier in March."

I did have the same reaction you did when reading that link though.

yeah no, I read it all. I think they should have both charges.
