I’m guessing some local Q-tards fed her some “info” and she, being the right wing hack at a low budget station she is, went with it.

We’ll get more info after their 9pm newscast here. Probably with statement from their management desperately avoiding a lawsuit.

And now, allegedly, the reporter has been arrested after punching a cop in the face.

A cursory glance of her Twitter shows a constant stream of retweets of right wing BS and Trump posts.

Hooboy did this story get bananas.

First, yes the reporter got arrested. Reportedly, she got fired, escorted out by her station’s GM. Who is also apparently her fiancé. She assaulted him and got arrested, now she’s awaiting bail and has DV charges.

It goes on. Yesterday a woman contacts local reporters on Twitter. She used to be an escort at 18, her mother found out and she demanded details and the woman told her that one of her best customers worked for the State of Alaska.

Now, Mom runs a cookie shop in town, has had success and gets contacted by the reporter for a story. In the interview she mentions that a) she can’t stand the Anchorage Mayor and b) tells the story of her daughter while elaborating and taking some liberties with the facts. Reporter goes off and we know where that lead.

End of story right? Nope. The cookie shop woman? Her brother is a restaurant owner who defied city shut down orders earlier this summer and ended up in court, eventually losing. To no surprise, the family is long time Republicans (except the daughter I assume). They see the story, deny the claims, and threaten the lawyers. To their credit, the reporters have basically said “uh we have receipts”.

That's like a Louisiana story. Alaska just changed in my estimation -- it's not that it went up or down, it just kinda teleported sideways into High Weirdness.

Oh who am I kidding? That's going up. :-)
 
North Dakota seems suboptimal.

In Bismarck, North Dakota, hospitals reached 100% capacity this week. Some COVID-19 patients were turned away and offered a “home monitoring program” instead of a hospital bed.

High weirdness? No, this is family drama wrapped up with small town political beef. Entertaining but, much like most of Alaska, trashy and probably involving duct tape.

Bonni's got a bunch of sandbillies in her family back in AZ who I annexed as in-laws. You can't argue politics with them; they're MAGAdumb. So we exchange recipes.

I got a voicemail from MA Senate candidate Dr. Shieva, that's S-h-i-e-v as in victory, a as in America. His message said he actually won the primary on September 1 by a landsline. A landslide, I tell ya!! And there was tremendous VOTER FRAUD. So now he's asking people to write him in. And to text Shieva, that's S-h-i-e-v as in victory, a as in America, to a certain number to get the full report of the VOTER FRAUD that cause him to not win the September 1 primary. I have no idea what party he ran in. What. A. Loon.
