So I am watching the game from Duluth tonight, and... well let me put it this way. Is Duluth unusually white? For the Midwest? For Minnesota? For a Minnesota college hockey crowd?

I'm used to a rotund crowd, I've watched Cardinals games. But this could be a Dump rally.

Outside of the metro areas of the large cities, it's an accurate representation.

You’re watching a hockey game. In northern MN. Whitey killed most of the natives. What else are you expecting?

It's college hockey in the midwest. That's how it's always been

It felt like a pro game. Inert crowd despite a close game (and FFS despite a team with 3 NCAA titles in a decade, what is this, Atlanta?). Terrible ambience with the cavernous rink PA slamming garbage noise into the air a tenth of a second after every stoppage. The Midwest does football atmosphere great, why is hockey so sh-tty? I hate Michigan but at least they let their crowd breath a little.

Duluth has never had a good crowd. Hell when I was in college Gopher fans would outnumber them most of the time when we went up there. Even the year they opened the new arena I believe was up there for a Gopher/UMD game and there was empty seats...

Minnesota fans are weird, and quite fragile. It bugs the hell out of me.

Is the arena on campus?

Too bad you didn't get to go to Grand Forks last year. Beautiful people in a beautiful setting, in and out of the rink.

With blizzards in lieu of hurricanes?
