The States : red states in a race to the bottom

Say the line?

Yeah, say the line.

"NOT A DRAG QUEEN!"

"YAAAAAAYYYYY!"

I think it's time we arrested all right-wing lawmakers & religious leaders on the presumption that they're pedos. I'll grant you, a few of them are likely innocent, but that's tough. Think of how much safer our children will be!

Send them all to El Salvadorean prisons

That's how we handle the immigrants.

A county clerk in New York refused Thursday to file a more than $100,000 judgment from Texas against a doctor accused of prescribing abortion pills to a woman near Dallas, setting up a potential challenge to laws designed to shield abortion providers who serve patients in states with abortion bans.

A Texas judge last month ordered Dr. Margaret Carpenter, who practices north of New York City, to pay the penalty for allegedly breaking that state’s law by prescribing abortion medication via telemedicine. The Texas attorney general’s office followed up last week by asking a New York court to enforce the default civil judgment, which is $113,000 with attorney and filing fees.

The acting Ulster County clerk refused.

I assume Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee are on their way up to defend the clerk for exercising their conscience. I mean, that's what they did for Kim Davis, or whatever that dumb loose hillbilly cow was named.

The 24-year-old was found unconscious and bleeding near her apartment building. She was arrested and charged with “concealing the death of another person” and “abandonment of a dead body.”

Honest to fucking God I just can't wrap my pea-brain around this shit.

The uplifting news in all of this is that Texas is working to pass SB 2880, a Senate bill that allows private citizens to sue social media platforms, websites, and even communication channels like Signal for having any information posted by users that could assist a woman in trying to get an abortion.
No word on how this will affect after-birth abortions, as Waltz’s Signal baby is now 13 days old at this point.

Regarding the big race in Wisconsin this week-

Brad schimmel was the Attorney General who blocked brandon dasseys appeals and blocked his release even after judge ordered it

Wisconsin Supreme Court unanimously declines to bar Musk from paying his bribes to Wisconsin voters, despite violating state law.

Open season for all politicians!

Don't the Democrats control the Wisconsin Supreme Court? If so there must beca legal reason not to. Let's be honest the Presidential one was rigged anyways it's was all a fraud.

I read it has to do with prior restraint and I quickly get lost in the legal theory. My idiot understanding is that you generally cannot prohibit speech before someone speaks or something like that? Which makes sense.

but the Wisconsin AG should just file an indictment. Michael from 5-4 said it best, if you think this is actually illegal you don’t file an injunction you get an indictment.

Edit: in other words, the courts aren’t going to ban him from “making speech” (eye roll) before he does it.
