The States : red states in a race to the bottom

They could also try to force him in on the SCOTUS, thinking he could be the next Taft. Unlike Taft, he wouldn’t write any opinions of his own, and just be a reliable vote to breakdown our nation of actual laws.
Well that was also the position Taft was supposed to get and the one he coveted the most. Being Veep to Roosevelt and then President was his wife's ambition not his.

Lis Smith isn't a good person, but then again what "fixer" is? Being a loudmouthed sociopath is sort of in the job description. The Terminally Online "Mayo Pete" Left just can't get over how she made him nationally relevant.

That said, after the Cuomo stuff, it's not a good look and neither are the Carville texts. Smith must have reached out after McMorrow's speech a few years back, whispered "I can get you to Washington" in her ear, and got into her circle.

Florida woman.

Investigators charge that Nikki Quarterman was “very intoxicated” when she got into a “verbal domestic related argument” with the 63-year-old victim around 11:30 AM Saturday.

The pair have been in an on-and-off relationship for the past decade, according to a criminal complaint.

“After the argument,” Quarterman “took her clothes off and started to break everything” in the victim’s St. Petersburg residence, cops reported. After the man got Quarterman to go outside, she allegedly grabbed a “10-12 inch dried conch shell” and “swung it at the victim multiple times.”

Quarterman (seen above) then threw the conch shell at the victim, who suffered a laceration to his hand when he sought to block the incoming shell. She then locked herself in the victim’s garage, but was “taken into custody there after a brief struggle.”

After posting $15,000 bond, Quarterman was released yesterday from the county jail. A judge has ordered her to have no contact with the victim.

Quarterman’s rap sheet includes multiple convictions for disorderly intoxication and marijuana possession, as well as convictions for battery, DUI, assault on a law enforcement officer, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

She was arrested six months ago for causing a public disturbance following a verbal dispute with her sometimes beau. After that beef, Quarterman allegedly exited the man’s house topless and began banging on the front doors of nearby homes and screaming profanities. That misdemeanor case is pending.

Alaska’s Permanent Fund lost $7 billion dollars last week and the actual price of North Slope crude oil is more than $10 per barrel below what the current budget projections are.

Meanwhile, our Governor, House Rep, and one Senator are cheering on a new “Golden Age for Alaska” that Dump has brought on.

In fairness, it’s probably hard for us simpleton libs to understand 5d chess

I dont know about "Golden" but I bet they are excited to welcome their new "Red" overlords!

Source for the PFD and oil projections stuff.

Gov. Mike Dunleavy has announced that with Trump in the White House every day is Christmas for Alaska. This is the Golden Age for Alaska, according to the Alaska Republican Party, Dunleavy, Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich 3.

There was a more accurate term for this age in a column in the Toronto Star by Bruce Arthur: “Trump launches golden age of stupid.”

Meanwhile, after a busy weekend of golf, Trump celebrated the crash in oil prices, which will add hundreds of millions to the Dunleavy deficit in the next fiscal year.

Oil prices are down because the chances of a recession are much greater than they were on April Fools’ Day.

Lower oil prices would mean that oil companies would be less likely to launch new Alaska oil projects.

The state’s spring revenue guessbook, released with fanfare by governor hopeful Adam Crum on March 12, is already out of date because it was based on the futures market.

The guessbook was based on oil prices of $74.48 per barrel for the fiscal year that ends in July and $68 for the next fiscal year.

When a recession looms, oil prices drop.

This man is addicted to running for office.
He has wealthy benefactors who know his 'type' when they see it. Also, the Michigan state GQP is still a fiasco despite the 2024 national outcome - relative to the anti-incumbent wave they barely flipped the state House back and failed to reclaim the state Senate. So realistically, he is probably their best shot at playing identity politics if the Michigan Democrats keep running women (and I see no reason to deviate from that strategy).

I am about to trigger DGF:
