The States: Maybe A National Divorce Is A Good Idea After All

Holy cow. In the Milwaukee suburbs this weekend for an in-law wedding. And I thought Florida was full of ugly, fat, angry white people…. The only time I’ve s seen anything except Fox News on TV was when we visited a 95-year-old relative in her nursing home - and she had on Newsmax. Diabetes has a lot of work to do if this state is ever going to turn blue!

Praise, the women in Milwaukee are HOT! Granted, they’re a little on the plump side, and who needs all 24 teeth anyway—most of them you never see unless they smile, which is seldom. It’s not like they all have only one leg.

SC recently ruled Alabama has to redraw congressional maps and create a second majority black district.

you will be shocked to hear they redrew a new map without a second majority black district.

Marquette High School in the UP ditched the "Redmen" nickname.

Certain locals are having myocardial infarctions.

Henry Sibley High School in my area was renamed Two Rivers High School because Sibley was pretty racist, and did some bike things to the natives - vile even for his time. The temper tantrums by those who graduated from that school and are >=30yo was severe.

I graduated from Muskegon High School and the nickname is Big Reds.

Up until 2002-03, we had an Indian head logo and a stereotypical Indian mascot. That was replaced with a white M surrounded by red.

Lots of people threw temper tantrums then as well.

Huh. I don't even remember that school changing name. Shows how much it really matters.

Huh. Today I learned he has a county and a city named after him:
Sibley County, MN
Hastings, MN

Edit: Jesus.
On September 27, 1862, Colonel Henry Hastings Sibley ordered the creation of a military commission to conduct trials of the Dakota. One year later, the judge advocate general determined that Sibley did not have the authority to convene trials of the Dakota, due to his level of prejudice, and that his actions had violated Article 65 of the United States Articles of War. However, by then the executions had already occurred, and the American Civil War continued to distract the U.S. government

Edit 2: Oh fuck
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakota_War_of_1862#Medical_aftermath
Because of the high demand for cadavers for anatomical study, several doctors wanted to obtain the bodies after the execution. The grave was reopened in the night and the bodies were distributed among the doctors, a practice common in the era. William Worrall Mayo received the body of MaÈ?piya Akan NažiÅ? (Stands on Clouds), also known as "Cut Nose".[87] Mayo brought the body of MaÈ?piya Akan NažiÅ? to Le Sueur, Minnesota, where he dissected it in the presence of medical colleagues.[88]:â??77â??78â?? Afterward, he had the skeleton cleaned, dried and varnished. Mayo kept it in an iron kettle in his home office. His sons received their first lessons in osteology based on this skeleton.[88]:â??167â??

In the late 20th century, the identifiable remains of MaÈ?piya Akan NažiÅ? and other Dakota were returned by the Mayo Clinic to a Dakota tribe for reburial per the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The Mayo Clinic created a scholarship for a Native American student as apology for having misused the chief's body.[89][90]

So Michigan's AG just threw down the hammer on a bunch of people involved in the fake elector scheme. 16 people indicted on charges ranging from Conspiracy to commit Forgery to Election Law Forgery. If I read right each is charged with 8 felony counts in total.

"Nessel had previously referred the case of Michigan's 16 electors to the Department of Justice, but Bridge Michigan reported earlier this year she was reopening her investigation because federal authorities hadn't filed charges yet"

Nessel got sick of watching Garland thumb his own ass.

You need to study more Minnesota History buddy ;^)

I knew about the mass execution. I didn't know the AP Minnesota History level of details. I just assume everyone from around 2003* and earlier was a racist piece of sh__t and probably doesn't deserve any thing named after them.

Predictably, the GOP is casting these charges as partisan and Nazi-like.
