Whoop Dee Doo. Glad you're so confident. Hopefully we're not in a Nuclear War before 2020.

I normally reserve this comment for our fear stroking republicans, but God **** it must suck to go through life as pessimistic as you.

It's his performative art. Mine's hostile snobbishness. Flag's is insanity. Fish's is "fair and balanced." We all probably have one (though to be fair yours seems to be competence and rationality, which is unnerving).

The home page of Fox News is hilarious. Last night's elections are completely buried behind North Korea, missing persons (with at least one MS13 reference), a whale slaughter, Ric Flair, and a Van Gogh painting.

I'm surprised after the sex harassment scandal that they didn't try to become a real news network.

Johnson-esque. Wrong on the facts, but if it motivated the base, it worked.

It was also an outside group and was pulled immediately.

As opposed to Gillespie's racist ads which were from the official campaign and ran again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again.

I love that he did mailers in NoVa calling himself "a proud son of immigrants" while in the Jesusf-ckistan portion of the state he was running mailers calling for an end to immigration.

You had yourself a real upstanding citizen, there.

The good news is the Fox takeaway is he lost because he wasn't Trumpy enough, so enjoy your 2018.

Do you know how much money they making giving their audience exactly want it wants to hear?

They're also doing replays of the 2016 election. "Hegel remarks somewhere that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce."

Boring candidate too. He was in the Gore/Kerry/Clinton mold. I doubt this means a boring Democrat could win the White House in 2020, but it might mean that any competent Democrat could win in a lot of places if they just run a nice clean, logical campaign. That's a good sign.

My main political show thought Gillespie as well. A lot of people didn't see this coming.

Really cause Gillespie spent most of the time trailing in the polls did he not? The lack of support in NoVa alone was clue #1 he was in for an uphill battle. Just like GOPers in Minnesota unless you can win the Twin Cities you are in trouble. (which is why Coleman is going to be Governor)

This isnt about the general right now...we need to flip state governments back to Blue. We can worry about 2020 after the midterms.

My precinct had 57% turnout. That seems pretty high for an off-cycle election.

Kos also reported that 18-29 turnout was higher that in 2014. The last crosstabs I saw before bed last night were that > 45 was R+2 and under 45 was D+30.

Minneapolis Mayoral had like 45% turnout way up from 2013.

Yep. You need to restock the farm system.

Re: The States. It's 10th Amendment or bust!

Bo Dietl is taking his 1% performance in the NYC mayoral race with the class, dignity, and spelling one would expect from him: https://twitter.com/BoDietl/status/928241166902054912

So Dr. Mrs. actually knows that guy personally. Granted this was a few years ago but I asked what he was like socially. She said, "he's not rude at all -- but he is an idiot."

Even the guys in the FBI -- the short bus of the federal government -- think he's dumb.

Re: The States. It's 10th Amendment or bust!

Minneapolis Mayor - Run off required. Incumbent Hodges came in third...not too surprising. Not that she was bad, but just not that exciting either. Odd thing is that Frey came out first in votes.

Frey is a new comer to the city, not much experience...but he's a good lookin guy I suppose. Not my choice.

Hoch had a loaded resume and was a more thorough candidate. Problem was he gave to the GOP...but not to a political fund and a tiny fraction of what he's given to the Dems. But has the experience to drive positive development.
