They didn't throw one out, they counted one more that had been previously thrown out. The questionable ballot had both bubbles marked, but a line was drawn through the Dem candidate's bubble. The ballot voted Republican in every other race. The elections board didn't count it, but the judges apparently decided it should count.

The best part is there could be yet another recount after lots are drawn.

I am sure Flaggy and his ilk have zero issue with this at all...

That’s the most logical thing I’ve ever heard of happening in politics.

Since Tennessee passed a law forbidding cities from taking Confederate statues down, Memphis sold the parks with them to a conservation group that took them down

I just learned that the MEA was victorious against Michigan in a Supreme Court appeal and I’ll be getting back $2700 in illegally withheld pay. I love unions now.

It's a start. Workers have clawed back about 5 billion dollars of the trillions of stolen pay of the last 50 years. Of course there will be no help from the current Nazi regime.

The Republican won the coin toss for the last seat on the Virginia House of Delegates.

If the Democrat had won it, the VA Republicans would demand investigations into whether or not the coin was two-headed, loaded, a Mexican peso, or was otherwise rigged. They'd also want a full background check on the official who flipped it, to make sure he'd never donated any money to a Democrat in his entire lifetime.

It's a coin. Minted by the Deep State at Treasury and then micro-chipped by the Federal Reserve.

Probably, since the race was decided by drawing a name, inside of a film canister, from a bowl. :)

God bless real journalism.

Cops go through people's trash. City officials say trash is public property. Newspaper goes through city officials' trash. City officials go nuclear.

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

The "Trash is Public Property" deal has been in place a lot longer than the Patriot Act. That standard has been in place in some places since at least the 80s. I have zero problem with it if you put the trash out in public.

I agree with the premise of the article (lets show these guys how bad a policy this is) and I think in the cop's case they went too far but I also think the article went too far into its "See Big Brother is EVERYWHERE" agenda and ruined itself. Just show the hypocrisy of the officials, that is what is important. The Patriot Act and Homeland Security dont matter here.

So, this article is from 2002. I wonder what prompted last month's update after more than 15 years had passed.

Kansas; but of course.
