The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

I posted an article about it yesterday. The former Dem Governor is running and is freaking the GOP out cause he might win. Old guard GOP dont like the GOP frontrunner...

I don't understand the freakout. U.S. CONGRESSMAN MARSHA BLACKBURN is running for Senate. No woman in the House right now represents the values of the GOP, Trump, or the Republicans than her.

What's the problem?

Rep. Marsha Blackburn, considered the front-runner in the GOP primary to succeed Corker, pushed back hard Tuesday against reports that some establishment Republicans are trying to get Corker to re-enter the race because they worry the party could lose reliably red Tennessee to Democrat Phil Bredesen in November.

“Anyone who thinks Marsha Blackburn can’t win a general election is just a plain sexist pig," Blackburn spokeswoman Andrea Bozek said in an emailed statement to the USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee.

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

I dunno but the reason they want him to run again despite his saying he was retiring was because the Governor is quite popular (even with some GOPers) and they think he will win.

Winning a House election is easy cause it is one district...she must not be liked in large parts of the state.

Corker has no prayer of beating her in the primaries. I heard the polling showing him down 2-1 vs her was a big reason why he ditched in the first place. Marsha Blackburn is a certified loon and was Trump before Trump was. Somebody said she's Bachman and Palin rolled into one.

Yes I would image she's have a rougher time in the general election ala Roy Moore but I doubt her supporters are going to stop and consider that.

srsly?

That really, really surprises me. Huh.

Corker seems to me the epitome of the old school pol who knows where the bodies are buried and how to leverage that to put the squeeze on the party.

And I assume whoever gets the "R" will coast to a win in a state that is, shall we say, roughly the intellectual equivalent of Kentucky.

It would be funny to have him running a shiv campaign against Dumpy, though.

I agree. With just hardcore GOP voters Blackburn will destroy him. Same set up as Moore in Georgia. GOP is going to have a big problem with their candidates this year with all the primary challenges.

If Soros is really serious he should be funneling money to Breitbart.

That crap doesnt matter any more. Trump proved that...think of the secrets the people he destroyed in the Primaries knew. The money doesnt follow the polls, it follows the psychos who try and think stuff. That is why Corker wanted out anyways...

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

OMG, that is outstanding! Methinks the lady doth protest too much. :)

From the article:

Victor Ashe, a Republican and a former Knoxville mayor, predicted Corker would have an uphill climb if he decides to get back in the race.

“For him to be successful, I think President Trump would probably have to endorse him and come to Tennessee,” said Ashe, who served as U.S. ambassador to Poland under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Has he met Dumpy?

Um, no. That is not going to happen.

It would be wonderful to see these two rip each other to shreds while the Dem nominee just collects money and waits. I still don't think we have a prayer but, hey, if it really is a wave then the more the merrier. It will at least force the GOP's billionaires to waste a few million buying what ought to have been a safe seat.

The best part would be if Blackburn loses and blames sexist pigs again. FReeper-type white males will go on a week-long screed about how this is why you never trust a female to get the job done, and WARHGARBL! :D

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Corker in Tennessee = Flake in Arizona. Arizona is just closer to purple than Tennessee.

Flake's running for president. Corker just wants to go home and steal money locally instead of nationally.

That would be very nice, yes. The GET ME A SAMMICH GOP would have a fine time with that.
