Re: The States: At Least Michigan is Better Than Indiana

A college kid running for 13th Ward alderman gets a lesson in the Chicago Way

An interesting read into how big politics can effect even local aldermen campaigns.

The summary:
“We turned in 1,703 signatures. We compared them to the 2,796 revocations, and found only 187 matches, meaning only 187 people who signed David’s petitions filed revocations,” Dorf said. “So, what about the 2,609 people who didn’t sign for David but who filed revocations? That’s fraud. That’s perjury. That’s felony.”

Dorf said that he will ask the elections board next week to refer the matter to Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.

But Foxx, a Democrat, won’t want to anger the Boss.

Neither will incoming Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, who famously said he would not “go fishing” for corruption, and who also received a million dollars in Madigan political money.

And current Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan, is the Boss’ daughter.

This is Chicago, where the Davids get crushed by the Goliaths. And where the boss is the boss.

The summary:

Not good. But look on the bright side. Perhaps there won't be any IL elimination of people on the voter rolls, voter ID discrimination against minorities, missing voting technology - only in urban districts, stealing of ballots, changing of laws to nerf other political parties, pretty much behaving like a racist, daily lying, postponing supreme court justice selections from the other party to benefit yourself...colluding with Russia, breaking campaign finance laws, blaming everyone else for your incompetent mistakes...tariffs that protect one sector cause inflation and hurt the US consumer, tax breaks for corporations that will never spend them, exploding debt...wrecking relationships with our allies, complementing dictators that either threaten to destroy the US or ones that invade other countries. Sorry, got carried away there.

Re: The States: At Least Michigan is Better Than Indiana

Cynical post

Are the streets paved?
Is crime low?
Is the garbage collected?
Good schools?
And if my kid needs a job, does he/she get one?

If so, people will tolerate anything short of rape.

If you're a media mogul who hates brown people, they'll tolerate (alleged) rape, too.

Stick that cynicism in your pipe and smoke it. ;)

More centrist BS.

The Democrats didn't steal 23 trillion from the lower and middle class. That's a fact.

The Democrats don't masturbate to Ayn Rand. That's a fact.
I'm with Brent on this (surprise!). The oligarchs are in control and no party will oppose them. They control the agenda, they control the information flow, they control our entertainment.

So unless you own your own sovereign island or asteroid, we're all at the point end of the stick.

All you do by doing that is give cover to the treasonous cult and their agenda.

It's every oligarch regardless of party. If you think they care about poor Juan crossing the border for humanitarian reasons, you'd be mistaken. They want cheap ill educated labor.

It's their rice bowl, not ours.

I agree with one side of the political spectrum, but I'm not so biased as to believe money and power doesn't influence all politicians.

That has absolutely nothing to do with my point. It also has nothing to do with what Paul Ryan did which was the topic at hand. The subject was changed.

Yeah but it changed because you changed it. You attacked Brent for his comment (which wasnt wrong) thus bringing about this response. Your smart***ness bit you this time.

Re: The States: At Least Michigan is Better Than Indiana

No. Brent's post changed the topic. Not mine.

Money influences all politicians, no matter the party. For better or for worse, no matter the party. To think otherwise is either being blind or foolish.

It's not (R) or (D) or (I); it's rich and non-rich.
