The States 2: States Rights for Me But Not for Thee

Is he giving up or is he revving up for a Prez run? He is hardly a passionate Leftist but (1) his heart seems to be in the right place, and (2) he does possess a pale skin penis, which appears to be what the Mouthbreathers demand.
He has zero chance to be President. The Vance debate proved he doesn't have the killer instinct needed and most of the leadership dont like that he speaks his mind which is why they had Harris kneecap him.

He’s giving up. I think he was fine fighting MAGA, but like Handy said once his own party started peeing their pants he’s saying ‘screw it’ and bowing out.

Fair and can't say I blame him. When you look at People, you wonder who you're righting for.

Marx was right about "sacks of potatoes." The proles are the hope. The peasants, OTOH, are a dead end.

Not sure how that works or the exact timing of it. Can she run while being Senator, and then after she wins it is handled? That seems to me to be more likely.
I would bet she has to resign...and honestly should anyways to allow him to appoint someone. If she is serious she should do it ASAP she could pretty much lock it up. (She can even use law and order killing the narrative)

The question becomes who does he appoint? It wont be Ellison to avoid the scandal, it wont be Peggy (unless she wants to) cause she is running for Smiths seat. Could be Craig to basically make the primary moot (gag me) which makes political sense but I hope he picks a real fuck you candidate.

Back in college, I spent a summer in Israel. They didn't have a drinking age. Most of the people I talked to there were convinced that was a key factor why teenagers rarely have a binging issue in their country. Because, there is no "coming of age" when it comes to alcohol.

Commenting on other posts...

In NYS, you can only buy beer in grocery/convenience/other stores as long as they have a license to sell. All wine and liquor can only be bought in a liquor store.

PA is really weird. I remember once I just wanted to buy a 6-pack to bring to a party, and I had to go to an actual bar to get it. Larger quantities can be bought in specialized stores. That was a while ago. Don't know what it's like now.
I grew up in Maryland, where you had to go to a liquor store to get alcohol. It was weird when I moved here to find you could by hard liquor at Meijer.

The best was Carroll County (where i lived) had laws that bars could only serve until midnight, so many people then drive 15 minutes down the road to the bar on the Baltimore County line that can serve until 2 am.

That happens in NYS as well. Each county sets the closing hour. Rochester, it's 2 am. Half hour towards Buffalo (and Buffalo itself) is 4 am.

The Final Destination was my town, growing up. Everywhere east of us had last call at 1; ours was at 3. Though as you went west towards the city it got even later -- I heard stories of bars that only closed from 6am-7am to reset. Not sure if they were apocryphal but in 1970s Brooklyn I would not have been surprised.

When I went to Ithaca I was genuinely mystified why anybody would have a last call before at the earliest 3. You only wind up at the bar as the night winds down.

Looking back I am really glad I had a lot of responsible friends. I don't think I drove after dusk from 1978-1985, nor should I have.

For what it's worth, according to this (and it's not the first time I've seen similar data) the U.S. isn't anywhere near the top for alcoholism.

And this one shows similar results.

Wisconsin is doing its best to bring up our numbers but those damn Mormons keep bringing them back down.
