Hmmmm

The surcharge is not related to Obamacare, a restaurant spokeswoman said. The eatery is not subject to the employer mandate until 2016 because it has fewer than 100 workers, but it already offers coverage to its staff.

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

What's this: The ACA insures more people AND slows health care costs?!?!?! But, but....Sarah Palin said it isn't so!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...bamacare-means-for-consumers/?wpisrc=nl_wnkpm

The cost is going down cause the rates went up for a large number of Americans. Everyone in the middle is paying a huge subsidy for this crap to cover the ex uninsured and the ex unable to be insured. By the time we really see the benefits I'll be dead.

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

You're claiming victory 3 minutes into the first period? Didn't you just admonish me in another thread about looking at short-term data when determining long term policy?

Not claiming victory at all. Just gettin' da facts out there for all to see.

I report. You decide. ;)

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Speaking of which, lookie here. CBO revises ACA cost estimate down?!?! WHAT! That's not what Rush told me!!!

"[In March 2010], CBO and JCT projected that the provisions of the ACA related to health insurance coverage would cost the federal government $759 billion during fiscal years 2014 through 2019 (which was the last year in the 10-year budget window being used at that time). The newest projections indicate that those provisions will cost $701 billion over that same period. Intervening projections (March 2012 is shown in the figure below) of the cost of the ACA’s coverage provisions for those years have all been close to those figures on a year-by-year basis."

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Aaaaaannnd it looks like The Impotent Boner that USCHO conservatives love so much isn't going to have a vote on that brilliant GOP ACA alternative after all!

So tell me knucks, if there is such a better plan out there, why hasn't the Republican House embraced it since they can pass legislation with no Dem help in that chamber? Anybody? Bueller? Anybody?

Because it would not even get a vote in the senate. You hate the fact the house has voted 50+ times to change/repeal ACA and now want something new that you know won't have a chance? Ummm... nice to see there's no double standard.

That's ok. The House won't vote on anything the Senate passes either.

Since when do I hate the fact that the house has voted 50 times for repeal? In fact, I think that's pretty funny. As the old saying goes, insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome every time. :D

But to your question, there's this thing called "leadership" that righties might want to try. IF there is some great GOP plan out there, wouldn't they pass it in the House and use that as a reason for people to re-elect them? Or are they just blowing smoke...

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor, if you like your plan you can keep your plan and the average family will save 2500 bucks a year. All great lies by the beloved Obama

Even the unions are starting to figure out the damage created by the PPACA:
http://washingtonexaminer.com/article/2545310

"A national union that represents 300,000 low-wage hospitality workers charges in a new report that Obamacare will slam wages, cut hours, limit access to health insurance and worsen the very “income equality” President Obama says he is campaigning to fix."

Wow, they don't even list the fact that it's a major tax increase for the middle class.

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

So what's this, from the polling firm (Gallup) that predicted a 5 point Romney win the weekend before the election: Obamacare is bringing down the uninsured rate!

http://www.gallup.com/poll/167798/uninsured-rate-continues-fall.aspx

Talk to me knuckledraggers, how do you explain away this one, especially in light of your oft repeated comments that there's been no real job growth and 50M people had their policies cancelled. How then, is the rate going down???? :D

Well MN has the cheapest health insurance in the country. It didn't 5 years ago.

You do of course realize that the uninsured rate for 20yrs prior to the numbers you posted was about 16.3%.

While the increase in the past few years is probably from the economic downturn, just grossly looking at the graph, one could argue that the passage of the ACA caused the increase and it's now stabilizing back to norm since policymakers now know what's in it ;)

Overall, it's way too soon to say the ACA is a success or failure. Most of the current estimates say that less than 20% of people signing up on the exchanges had no previous insurance (in other words, 80+% had and lost their insurance for one reason or another.) so it may be making progress even though the overview suggests that Medicaid expansion is what's responsible. Regardless, to offer up the current stats as evidence of the ACA's success is similar to celebrating a National Championship because your team scored the tying goal in the first period of the first round game
