I'd definitely prefer the win, but this year I'm trying to keep everything in perspective in terms of how we started the last few years. With that in mind, on the road against a team that has had our number for years and beat a top-ten team last week, I'll take the tie. Tomkins played really really well. He really kept us in this one. We got plenty of good chances ourselves, we were just unable to capitalize. I thought we had the game winner three or four times in that first OT. With the start they've had, I don't think there's any reason we couldn't sweep BG next week.

Its not a win but not a loss either. Ill take the tie and move on to BG next weekend. They got destroyed at Western last night and will be hungry come Friday night in there barn. I expect them to be flying out of the gate lets hope our guys can match it.

Well we still need to keep out of the penalty box. If not for that 5 on 3 we may have taken a real win home with us last night.
Penalties are game killers and I think that will be the main factor at BG next weekend.
Any word on Frey's injury or when he'll be back?

Frey has a groin injury. Tomkins was playing so well last night I didn't even think to ask how long he'll be out haha. As for the penalties, apparently all the teams were told at the beginning of the season that they would be calling things much tighter this year. I guess we just have to get used to it.

I know he didnt even travel last night but groin's can be tricky i wold bet he wont play this weekend either

That seems right. You are a team and travel as a team with the exception of your injury preventing you from traveling.

Still at #19 in USCHO poll but 2 places out of USA Coaches poll behind Northeastern.
Apparently a tie with unranked Miami did not impress the coaches. Just not feeling the love.

Rightly so. A tie vs an unranked team is not going to be seen favorably in the polls, nor should it ever be. We should have taken care of business against Miami and Air Force. This team should be 3-0 right now. Take care of business on the ice and the rankings will come.

I'll be interested to see how much of a boost we get in the rankings this week for the sweep. On the one hand I think BG is better than their record, on the other hand, they're 0-5-1 and that just doesn't look good. Either way, we're 3-0-2 and heading into (what should be) the easiest part of our schedule. Things are looking good.

And with Minnesota getting swept they certainly aren't invulnerable. We could do well this year.
At least Saturday Tompkins looked more comfortable in net as he gave up FAR fewer rebounds than he did at BG on Friday!

This week we will see if this team is different they go on the road against an opponent that they should beat. If they are different then the wins keep coming.
