The Ohio State 2016-17 Thread: Let's give this another Schott

Re: The Ohio State 2016-17 Thread: Let's give this another Schott

I'd say OSU had a net gain with Strobel leaving and Miller coming. Miller was one of my top choices for the UW opening.

I hope you're correct, and I tend to think you are. Strobel, even with all his time spent away from the game, made a good contribution last year so you're not getting a lightweight. Good luck to you (except in 4+ games or more). :D

Who here of season ticket holders received their tickets yet?
I was told they went out last week and I haven't received mine and I only live 2 miles from the University!

Just checking on former Maine goaltender Sean Romeo, see that he is the only veteran goalie on the team with 2 incoming recruits for Ohio State....hoping that Sean Romeo does well, he was never given the chance to prove if he could be the goalie that Maine has looked for over the past years...myself I thought he should have been given a chance, but then the Staff we have @ Maine leaves you to wonder....Maine does have a different Goaltending Coach and I think that would have favored Romeo...but I "HOPE" he does well for your Team and will follow his progress through out the season.

We have had decent goaltenders but it's been a LONG time if ever since we've had one who was a sensation.
Sometimes though it's hard to judge your goalies when your defense screws up and hangs them out to dry.
Dave Caruso is a former OSU goalie who worked as goalie coach for the New Jersey Devil's affiliate Albany Devils is now the Goaltending Consultant here but I'm uncertain what actual duties go with that job title.

Thanks, imo he can carry the load [Romeo]....but like you said he needs help also as the defense and forwards have to come back and do there parts...I hope Romeo does well...in part to stick it in Maine's Head Coaches face [Red Gendron] in not giving him a "DECENT" chance to show what he could do. GOOD LUCK..!

Thanks, I hope he does well here of course.
Hopefully we'll have a cohesive defense this season and a pretty good team overall. We have a number of very skilled players returning and if the newbies mesh well a strong run for the conference title and the NCAA's can be a distinct possibility!
My only concern is the replacement of the coaching staff with the exception of the head coach and how our guys will adapt to the change but Bittner as an alum brings a strong passion for the program and Miller's experience with Denver is top tier!
