Re: The Official Thread of Black Friday Sales

As someone who never even imagined of venturing out before 4pm on this day, I am kinda curious to see the 5am nutjobs out... This will be my first time doing this deal... Would anyone that has worked on this day have any survival tips?

Oh, and at Best Buy, employees are supposed to refer to this day as "Green Friday"... Apparently Black Friday is too negative or something...
Don't expect to move too freely...watch out for little kids, they come out of nowhere (though keep in mind most of my Black Friday experience has been at Target in the Toy Department).

Probably by some PC corporate type who has never worked a Black Friday at the store level. It's a very negative day for those who have worked it.

I'm going to try and capture the rush on my phone this year at my store...:D

Re: The Official Thread of Black Friday Sales

Well, spent most of today finalizing crap for "The Big Day"... I am slowly getting more and more anxious towards this... Should be interesting either way...

Anyone find anything extraordinary for Friday AM?

I bought a new PC and got my mom a new laptop, and a new PS3 might be in the cards. TigerDirect has some awesome electronics deals. Amazon.com has a boatload of specials. A lot of etailers are releasing their products online so you can avoid the lines and still get great deals.

I was a cashier at Target for two years on Black Friday...fastest day of the year for me I had very little issue with it :D (Day after Christmas was worse)

I like http://www.bfads.net

You can also fan them on facebook.

Not only is there Black Friday, but the day many of the online dealers do the great deals. I forget what catchy name they've given to it, though.
I dunno what the online guys call it but we in the shipping industry (I work at UPS) call the Monday after Thanksgiving Black Monday because that's when most of those orders ship.

Well, here we go... Off to experience this 3-ring gong show for the first time... Win or lose, I am pretty sure that there will be alcohol on tonight's menu for me...

Re: The Official Thread of Black Friday Sales

I finally caved and bought a Logitech universal remote from Amazon for $100 off the regular price a few minutes ago. That's the extent of my Black Friday experience. ;)

Re: The Official Thread of Black Friday Sales

I was gonna pick up The West Wing complete set from Amazon for $135 that they had posted on Tuesday, but figured maybe by Friday it would be even lower. But no, on Wednesday they marked it up to $150 and there it stays.

Still $135 at Deepdiscount.com, but I'm thinking I should hold off and not spend the money after all. Got a new mountain bike to save for.
