2) This story is spread over three pages? I have to click TWICE to read through this piece of crap? That's just bad page design, folks.

Also, what these guys don't realize is that, unless all teams are excluded, at least one team will be on the outside looking in, and that team will have reason to gripe.

But because there are automatic bids, there is always a team that snuck its way into the final 16 by winning their conference tourney title -- Rochester Institute of Technology of the Atlantic Hockey League -- those three teams with decent to impressive credentials will have to a buy a ticket to see the regionals this weekend.

That team that snuck in because they won their conference championship beat the #1 ranked team in the tournament. What a baby.

Agreed, and, this is the second time since 2008 that RIT as the #16 has knocked off the #1, DU in 2008, when they went on to knock off UNH to take part in the FF. Will be interesting to see if RIT and DU meet each other again in the postseason, this time in the FF.

My team got "screwed" by a holding penalty that they were not calling until the end of the game and a goal might have happened but there wasn't enough evidence to call it good.

Perhaps leagues that have unprofitable or otherwise empty finals (AHC, maybe ECAC) would want to go in that direction? But it does risk two things: a) the possibility of a surprise team making the NCAA that wouldn't ordinarily do so, and b) some more (non-conference, I believe the NCAA dictates) games against better opponents.

The ECAC had 5000 for both nights in Lake Placid. That's a pretty good draw for a 7700 seat arena, especially when 3 of the 4 biggest travelers in the conference weren't even in LP. If you put Cornell (size), RPI (traveling faithful), or Clarkson (proximity) into LP, you'd have a near sellout.

It was 2010. USCHO said DU was 2nd that year not first.(asked yesterday).
Also thought Holy Cross was 16th and Minny first, when HC won.Again USCHO said 15 and 2.

Gophers got screwed the worst. Obviously were told the wrong game time because they didn't show up to play.
