Well played. I will say, though it has taken a few years, the amount of colorful whining after the final PWR is announced has decreased exponentially. I think most people are starting to realize how the system works and what needs to be accomplished to make the field of sixteen.

Please allow this thread to serve as your place to complain about the PWR, the committee, the smoke-filled room or your misinformed views about why undeserving teams like RPI, Air Force and CC stole your team's spot. This is also a good place to ***** about your coach, the referees, the RPI formula, KRACH and the entire process.
This version of the thread even promises entertaining topics such as the Big Ten Hockey Conference, Joe Thornton being traded, Giada's Melons, Merrimack being kicked out of Hockey Rast, #26 Union, the playoff chances of St, Clooud, a symposium on the many hackings of Freddy Meyer and the always-popular college hockey video game.
We have the Waambulance standing by and extra tissues handy.
We also have several types of cheese to go along with whatever whine you prefer. We promise you'll get your just desevrings!

Fair enough. I just have a hard time getting over RPI stumbling down the stretch and not even reaching the QF round of the ECAC tournament. That being said, I hope your team is well rested, healthy and gives UND a game.
I would normally agree but I watched RPI beat Dartmouth both times they played rather handily.

And what's even more sad is if BU had defeated RPI in December, they'd be a 3 seed right now and RPI and Dartmouth would both be out.

I too am very surprised. RPI at one time this season was looking like a top 10 team nationally. The last part of the season their record fell dramatically. (although most games they lost were in OT). If you include the entire season, then perhaps they deserve to be the 15th seed. If you just look at the last 10 games, they should be sitting home. UND will be a handful for them but we have a history of playing to the competition so you just never know.

Meh, Dartmouth went 1-7-2 against Yale, Cornell, RPI, and Union, so I've got no beef with them being left out this year. They beat Yale or RPI at home, they're probably in the tournament; sadly I'm used to this.
I was way more ****ed off when they were left at home so UNO could go lose to BC 10-1 or something about 5 years ago. I know the math said that was what should've happened, but you'll never convince me that UNO was either the better or more deserving team that year. They simply rode their conference's coat tails into that bid.

Ha, I believe it was actually 9-2 at the hands of BU, but then BC wiped the floor with BU the next night. Anyway, it's just why I think the last 1-2 slots should have a human element to them.

We're all getting screwed because the Big Ten is covering for their poor hockey season by making their announcement right after the tourney got unveiled to knock if off the front pages!

You could still have bracketology if the last two spots were up for grabs. In fact, it would make bracketology more interesting...

to me the whole beauty is that there is ZERO human element to qualifying for the tournament. Could the formula be tweaked or changed, sure, but asking people to make a subjective choice is not something I'd like.
