I'm mildly curious about tonight. If Adrian gets tonight's game (which I think they should, and will) we're looking at a sweep. If Adrian plays like they did last Saturday night against the U-18's they'll get the sweep for sure. This is one of the few weekends in conference play that can trip them up. This one and the MSOE games. I have no idea about Lake Forest.

I'm picking Adrian to win both. Give Marian all props for beating Wisconsin (Oh, Clare!), but I think Adrian's game against the U-18s was even better preparation. It's not a gimme, though, and I think one of the wins will be by just one or two goals.

They used to but no idea if they still do. Try checking the marian webpage. If that doesnt work, try googling something like "marian hockey video". Id try finding it but im on my phone. I cant remember the name of the company that does it...ill try finding it once im up and running in river falls...

SOME ICE CHIPS:

Northland's team have improved.... a little , and they made respectable efforts in both games at Adrian .....considering. Goaltender Dan McIntosh as expected was "large" in net, and in my opinion was their best player. He was pulled in the first game when the score got a bit out of hand, played solid for 3 periods on Saturday.

I was a little surprised to see a Marian sweep over MSOE on the weekend especially since MSOE had 4 wins in the books going in.

It's very early,....... but Coach Szkodzinski has Lawrence off to a really nice start. It appears they've closed the "gap" as much as any team.

At long last Adrian gets to play a team remotely related to the NCHA when Lake Forest visits this weekend.

Marian/MSOE: this series was a toss up for sure. I really expected MSOE to be the better of the two at this stage in the year. Marian has a lot of freshmen logging a lot of ice time. I am curious to see how MSOE plays outside of the MCHA. These are some nice bounce-back wins for Marian.

Adrian/Lake Forest: This should be an interesting series for sure. I think Adrian certainly has the strong upper hand, but as a young squad, Lake Forest has a lot of room to improve week-to-week. This should be the most interesting match up of the week.

Lawrence: They seem to be off to a very nice start. They should have some great battles with Marian this season. It is interesting to note that since falling to Lawrence and Marian, UW-Eau Claire beat Augsburg and Gustavus and drew and lost a one-goal game to UWRF.

Finlandia: I still don't know how good this team is. I sense they are down a bit, but then again, they always seem to play close to their potential. We should have a better idea of where they stand after this weekend's games against Marian.

Nice to see Lawrence off to that 5-0 MCHA start and 6-1 start overall...

I am hoping they show well at that tournament over the holiday as well...

It will help to have 4 guys sitting out for SNC because of game DQ's at River Falls over the weekend. Two on the d-side. That will hurt. Still, three games in a row against NCHA teams will be a good test for the Vikes.

Didn't Lawrence lose to CSS in OT at this tournament last year? The DQs should certainly help against Norberts. That being said, SNC minus 4 is still a very stiff test. It would certainly be nice to see Lawrence win one of these two.

Anybody know what happened to Joe Burcar at Finlandia, he has been relieved of his position as head coach.

Well, two different websites up there have it. I've got to believe that there's too much smoke for there not to be a fire.
