D-Man Mike Wills appears to be transferring to Oswego from Merrimack. He only had 2 points in 27 career games with the Warriors but he is a pretty solid Taylor Farris type Defenseman. He is listed at 6'0, 195 and played for the Lindsay Muskies of the OJHL before Merrimack.

sounds like a nice p/u,I will add to ever growing list of prospective players showing up to school/camp/pink fluffy bunny stuff........still lookin for that 3rd netminder

It's tough to find that 3rd goaler !! Plattsburgh has a great one in "Sudden Sam" Foley: 4 games, 115 minutes, 0 GA, 33 saves, 2-0 and pitched a shutout !!! Can't beat that !!

all-american stats..........I am just a little leary with a soph goalie with only a few gp, and a frsh goalie with zero college:eek::confused:...I am sure Gosek knows that either Gilbert can handke it, or another goalie is in the wings??

I think Gilby will do just fine. He was solid in his appearances last year and was easily the best of the three in the USA game. He has done some work in the offseason to get a little stronger and quicker and he has the raw technique as long as he is mentally ready which you just never know. I would have to think it would be between him and Zawadski for the starting job. I would be surprised if any potential third guy is some sort of stud that will jump right in and start. I have been wrong before though.

He did look good but its a long season, a lot of practice and games,not much experience btwn the pipes at the moment,and we have had a few goalies go down with injuries/cramps( beat ya to it Remy:D ) in the past,would have to believe a third netminder is in the works.......and we have all beeen wrong b4...;)

were going to have to get a on campus spy to keep us updated, perhaps lakereagelover can implant a chip in a WTOP/WNYO memeber..........or maybe TOTO:)??...is he a student??

Toto graduated last year, as did a number of sources (and 14 (Great) Lakers)...but fear not, as the media pipeline is reloading and ready to serve... New AD...New SID...gotta break them in sooner than later...

I enjoyed being a source for insider information while I could, but I have indeed graduated. The private sector scooped me up and landed me with a middle-class job in Phoenix, so I'll be seeing all my Laker games at a 2 hour difference to you my friends.

I'm saving up for a trip to Maine should things go well. Fingers crossed.

And I noticed no one ever really credits the Oswegonian with the work they do. Yeah newspapers aren't as fun as tv or radio, but the Gonian is ready to dedicate the entire front page of their paper to a picture of Ed Gosek holding the NCAA D3 trophy with the rest of the team when (not if) that happens. They cover every game, and have done extensive features on the key players in their twice yearly periodical, The Playmaker.

Not taking anything away from the great job that some guys like Keeley have done, I'm just saying the Oswegonian exists too and they do everything they can to promote Laker hockey. Just sayin.

Update for anyone keeping track of where last year's seniors have gone. Chris Ayotte is going back to his hometown of Cornwall, Ontario, to play for the Cornwall River Kings in the LNAH. The Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey is known as the toughest hockey league in the world, and it has gained that reputation for a reason. In 2010-11, that league averaged 3.2 fights per game, compared to 0.6 for the NHL. I don't know if Chris ever struck me as the biggest enforcer at 5'10", but I'm happy for him that he's going to be able to spend some more time with his family and I can't imagine his team will be disappointed with him. He certainly did a great job in Oswego.

Well, technically..... we'll be seeing them at the same "time", just the clocks will read different.
