So it comes down to what happens between the two Alaska teams.
You flatlanders need to stay up late.

I plan on breaking the entire thing down during the first or early second period of Saturday's game. We'll know everything else, and I'll just have to rush home after the broadcast is done. Hopefully I'll have a smile on my face from a UAH win.

The interesting thing is which team may have to find 27 plane tickets to Fairbanks for Mon or Tues for a Thursday game.
MSP/ANC SLC/ANC SEA/ANC and I didn't look at what UA is flying
If push comes to shove and hoping it doesn't, might have to split the team to find the seats.
Airline consolidation sure hasn't helped the flying public.

Too bad the final destination won't be Anchorage.

Re: The New WCHA IV (2013-14): Unlocked and Cocked

$1563 per ticket
I didn't check to see if 27/28/29 seats were available and I didn't "shop" just asked the computer for a DL fare DTW/ANC 12MAR ANC/DTW 16MAR the total travel time each direction including plane changes at MSP was under 9 hours
The first class fare was right at the $1563 fare as you noted
The coach fare was $1006
That lower fare may not be available with less than a 7 day advance purchase and it very well may jump to the $1500/1600 range as a walk up fare.
And this is hoping we could find all those seats.
This is starting to be some serious money.
Throw in a few nights in the hotel, feed all the guys, buy some ground transportation and pretty soon you're bumping into a $50,000 bill. Well may $40,000. Big money to me either figure.

1563 was Marquette-Fairbanks. That has since jumped over 2000

I do believe the same travel payments for regular season games are also in effect for playoffs.

They are? The conference doesn't pay for it? I thought that's the way it was in the past in the WCHA, but I could be mistaken.

It used to be UAA bought a certain number of airline tickets.
I'm just hoping enough game tickets get sold to justify the expense.

The past WCHA also had a big money making Final Five. I believe the Alaska schools offering the playoff subsidies was one of the key points in dropping the "Alaska Plan" for the playoffs.

I asked about WCHA TV for the playoffs. While I think that it's reasonable to do single game PPV for the Final 4ive, I think that it makes all the sense in the world to offer a package that covers the first round next weekend. I want to pay for that and watch all 8-12 of those games from my couch! I want to be able to follow the conference on Twitter and be able to shift from game. Maybe I'm crazy. [Okay, I am crazy.]

IF this interests you, please sound off, because I want to flood the conference about this. I have Doug Spencer's already on the matter.

I agree 100%. And even if you're going to go to a game, it'd still be fun to come home (depending on your time zone) and watch the other series. People won't pay a la carte to only watch two teams that they're not passionately interested in.
