Luckily the Alaska schools decided to pull their weight last night. Bowling Green tying Union was also a pretty good showing.

I think the "luckily" was an indictment of everyone else's performance.

I'm a little disappointed that the Lake State feed for AmericaOne doesn't have any commentary on it. My understanding is that everyone was going to have that as a requirement for Fox Sports Go, so it's a let-down that there's nothing here. The camera looks great, though. The lighting is bad, but that's 2/3 of college hockey arenas.

My chief complaint is that long runs of hockey leave you with no sense of how much time is on the clock, and if you come in mid-stream or PIP away for a while, you have to wait for a stoppage to get score/time/penalties.

No updates from the Sullivan for the UAA game.

Yeah. I assume you're talking about there being a lack of commentary, but I also wish there was some consistency when it comes to on-screen graphics. Some have just the score and maybe a couple other features, some have nothing at all. NU's is perfect, shows the period, time remaining, power-plays (including number of players per side, and time remaining), and score, and it's pretty clean and doesn't really block the view. Hopefully the WCHA can get something like that worked out. If nothing else, it would make it a lot easier keeping track of multiple games, since even with commentary it can take a while to get that info.

Yes, the lack of a score-time-period banner at the top of the screen is lacking. I expect that Fox Sports Go was going to get around that by doing production on their end of things based on live stats and the announcer's call, but I don't expect the schools to be doing it across the board. Lake is probably the lowest common denominator here.

I can almost make out the score block in the PIP on my catch of the UA_ broadcast. It's obvious that they get it at some level, because they go to a full-screen graphic with period and score (but no time, which is weird). Speaking of that broadcast — which is TV, and I suspect is UAA-sourced — there is no audio in the feed despite the fact that they've done on-camera shots of the broadcast team (who are down-dressed, heh). It would be great to have that audio, but oh well. It's early yet.

I thought we might pick the Huskies off tonight, but ... nope.

Well, technically one of those wins was at a neutral site. Fairbanks won in Anchorage.

or the other way around. I didn't pay attention enough to know if this is the Anchorage tourney or the Fairbanks tourney.

Tech should just leave the ice. **** the shootout and who really effing cares what Duluth wants? Its not our fault that their idiotic league wants to settle games with some silly shootout.
