Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

If they can find the broadcast talent in each market and pay them. Nothing is finalized at this point. If it were, Fox and the WCHA would have made an announcement.

One obvious talent pool at any university would be the students, especially those majoring in the broadcasting / communications feilds needing to intern

... at the schools that have that kind of program. We do not.

??? the TV folks saw your photo? ;)

--- from the original "face for radio"

Exactly.

One reason that the WCHA online video may be slow is that Fox Sports is re-launcing as a 24/7 network. We're not going to get out ahead of that.

Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

The WCHA will be offering FREE video for all games....each school, with Bowling Green the POSSIBLE exception, all forked out $$$ to buy new equipment for the set up that will basically be an upgrade to what America One/B2 offers...Some schools may offer separate radio and webcast crews...some will simulcast....as far as TV, no national deal is in place as far as I know....ROOT sports could be a possibility down the line for Fairbanks and Anchorage...GCI cable televises the Alaska schools home games...live statewide, but tape delayed in Fairbanks and Anchorage,,,Channel 7 KFXF the FoX affiliate in Fairbanks televises some games over the air...road contests generally live...home contests with the tournaments and Governor's Cup tape delayed again.....Revenues will be split three ways with WCHA, FOX and each school getting 1/3 share of advertising....BG, a division one school with football, has an agreement with another company, and don't know the details there...

When you say free, does it require a login for Fox sports go? Which would also require having the channel and a participating cable or satellite provider?

So that article didn't really answer the question. unless i'm misinterpreting the line about "authenticating 230 feeds". or is it common knowledge that it will function basically like watch ESPN and require a login only available to channel subscribers.

That is what its sounds like to me. "Free" as usual, but only to paying TV customers.

One reason i ask is because not everyone has Fox Sports One. For example take Comcast in South West Michigan, Speed was (and Fox Sports One now is) part of a digital sports package and wasn't in the extended package that the majority of people purchase. So there version of free might mean increasing your cable package.

Try channel 72 or 731. It's available from Comcast as a Digital Starter channel. Meaning, if you have OnDemand service, you get Fox Sports 1.

"Do I get Fox Sports 1?"

* Comcast moved Speed channel to a lower tier a month prior, in preparation for the switchover to FS1. If you even have one of the digital transport adapters, you might even be able to pick it up.

Not yet, but that can change at any time. I can get FS1 on our TV with the box connected to it, but not upstairs with the adapter (I will be able to get FXX though when it changes from Fox Soccer). I keep checking every other day or so just in case, but as of now I still have to use the one TV.
