The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

Except that the facilities do not belong to UAH. They belong to the city of Huntsville. Recent renovations were funded in part by the Propst family. What further upgrades do the facilities need?

Locker rooms, mainly — and that goes for the Havoc as well as us. The training facilities back at Spragins Hall are okay, although all sports generally share them, which makes for crowded times. However, we're a Division II school with an Athletics budget to match.

I know here at Sullivan UAA and the Aces both paid to have their own locker rooms. Could they do the same there?

We have separate rooms, because we do sometimes play on the same night (although not this year and probably not going forward). It's just that we're under the concourse in concrete-block construction that would take some time and money to do anything with. The city did upgrades to the concourses and lower bowl with a gift from a local businessman who had retired; the main thing that got refreshed upstairs was a new sound system and new video boards, all of which look great. However, we still have the same seats, albeit with railings down the aisles now. (I always lived in fear of going *** over teakettle coming down from the press box after a long pre-game and game.) They did a lot of great things with the arena, but 3x the money would've fixed things like locker rooms and new seats upstairs and a press box elevator and all that. I don't want to diminish the things done at the main level, because they're great. But locker rooms for both home teams could use some work, and that gets hard without doing a lot of structural work to the building.

Zero chance George heads up the WCHA. I would like to think he would have the class NOT to apply, but I'm even more confident the nWCHA would have no interest in him after how things went down with the NCHC.

Former UAH Chargers head coach got hired by the Wild to be the first Head Coaxh of their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild.

Just saw this on Twitter, and while it doesn't relate directly to the WCHA, it could.

I just don't know how trustworthy either of the sources are... but...

May we have BREAKING NEWS soon? We were 1st to report Penn St.'s ascent to D1. Is another top ACHA team making the jump? Bad wording in the tweet. ACHA teams don't, "make the jump." Penn State still has ACHA hockey.

Also, don't tease that you might have breaking news. If you have breaking news, break the news! But you better be correct. Otherwise, hush.

CollegeHockey.info isn't a news site, anyway, so it's hard to take them seriously.

Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

That was my thinking regarding how credible the CollegeHockey.info tweet was.

But then to be followed up by a tweet from the EIEIO... err EIU Hockey account (yes, I'm well aware since it's club it's not an official outlet from the University).

Just passing it along more for the idle banter than as ZOMG! breaking news.
