The NCHC Year Two: Haters Please Form A Queue to the Right

Dear Nachos,
I hate you all, and feel no need to justify or rationally explain the reasons.
Anybody who gets their panties in a twist about it...big ***** deal.

PS: No logical person could read the title of this thread as anything other than an invite for Nacho haters.
I'm glad to oblige.
Dude, no one cares. Go work on next seasons bottom feeder bracket and feel free to pencil in 7 or 8 nWCHA teams.

Re: The NCHC Year Two: Haters Please Form A Queue to the Right

This is one of the most delusional things I've ever read. Blasi and Gwozdecky basically formed this league so everyone else was "invited" as part of the "like-mindedness" whether you agree with it or not (see below for why). Oh and lest we forget Miami destroyed Mankato in the NCAA's just two springs ago.

Miami's commitment to hockey, resources, money, facilities, academic stature, all Division I status (as well as Western Michigan's) and school size help float all other boats in a league full of non-football playing, lower division schools (though with what will be a 20-game losing streak after Saturday night, you could make a reasonable argument that Miami doesn't play football either -- but our tradition on the gridiron is worth a Google search should you be so inclined -- BG fans conveniently forget that the only MAC team the Falcons have a losing record against is Miami).

But, to the issue at hand, clearly you haven't been paying attention to what's been happening in Oxford, Ohio over the last 15 years because Miami is a perennial Top-10 program that had a dysfunctional season last year. And, considering that, still was a goal away from winning the conference tournament.

1. It was DU and UND that were the main culprits of this league. Miami is just another squad that got invited.
2. WMU wishes they were half as big of a deal as UNO, UMD, or SCSU.

NCHC Preseason Poll
1. North Dakota – 181 points (12 first-place votes)
2. Miami – 167 (9)
3. St. Cloud State – 151 (4)
4. Denver – 117 (0)
5. Minnesota Duluth – 112 (0)
6. Omaha – 73 (0)
7. Western Michigan - 67 (0)
8. Colorado College – 32 (0)

Let's see, with 25 voters, Colorado College had seven or fewer 7th place votes. Poor Tigers. :(

Re: The NCHC Year Two: Haters Please Form A Queue to the Right

After some people pointed it out to me on Twitter...UNO could really struggle. They lost a lot from last years team. They do have a great freshmen class but it's tough to win like that.

Re: The NCHC Year Two: Haters Please Form A Queue to the Right

Gwoz called UND AD Brian Faison AD of UND
I just noticed this gem of a typo, because I just noticed it.

In other news a few UMD, SCSU and MSU-M games will be on FSN this winter.

Yawn with nWCHA references, the nacho sucked last year and will again.
Huge mistake to break up the WCHA from an economic standpoint.
However, the new group in the WCHA is fine with competitive balance. So it all worked out in the end.

I think, and I think most people would agree, that Dean Blais is an enormous intangible when evaluating our program or our team. We were picked last, last season, and finished 3rd. This is easily the best recruiting class, on paper, in UNO school history. No other class even comes close. Next year's is already right up there, too.

Absolutely. But the problem is UNO lost a of people. And it's tough to win a lot of games with freshman carrying the load

The NCHC had 3 teams in the NCAA tournament and had 3 wins. nWCHA had 2 teams in and both got bounced in the first round, one of them by a NCHC team. So the nWCHA sucked worse. You are right about the nWCHA having competetive balance, though. All the teams can beat each other within the conference, but can't beat any teams outside of it.

Did Blais recruit a goalie?

Whatever, don't take it too hard when that statement is proved wrong.

Probably the dumbest crap I have read in a long time...though most other responses in this dump of a thread are pretty close...
I would tell them, don't let the door hit you in the ***** on the way out. Good luck with a regurgitated CCHA with the likes of _______?

NCHC was 15-4-6 against the WCHA last year. 12-4-6 if you don't want to count games against UAH. So....I guess I will believe it when I see it.

We'll check back with you at the end of the season.

Wait the comment was can't beat any teams outside of it. So it was not 0 wins against the NCHC already last year which what I recall was primarily road games. That record should improve for the WCHA with some home games.

True enough, and, our schedule is pretty brutal in the first half.

The Purple Cows at home, runaway winners of the WCHA pre-season poll. At Cornell, who received a 1st place vote in the ECAC pre-season poll. Away at North Dakota, winners of the NCHC pre-season poll. At St Cloud State. Home against Miami, a trip to Ohio State, etc.

That said, I think this is a team that improves as the season wears on. I'll be interested in seeing how well we compete and how competitive these 1/2 half games are because all those freshman are going to play and play a lot.
