The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

NCHC, where mediocrity not only accepted, apparently it's encouraged. Only a matter of time before the mediocrity spreads to the product on the ice.

Loving every lame defense you guys are coming up with. My favorite was Goon's "they let the domain expire so they could redesign the website". Dohkay :D

Your obsession runs deep with tNational...

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

I do admit I enjoy watching your conference fail, and all of you squirm to down play that failure. It's been one thing after another. Precious moments for me for sure :D

Failure?
They haven't played a game yet, they haven't failed.
Again, the conference doesn't even exist yet.

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

With a tagline like that I would think the Minnesota athletic department would be breaking down the door trying to get into the NCHC.

We've got this really big, heavy cup in our trophy case that we didn't want to move to go breaking doors down. So we're good. Once NCHC starts with football, think of us again. Thanks.

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

From the NCHC website. You can't make this stuff up. This new conference is a GOLD MINE of incompetence.

Founded in 1951, college hockey’s most historic conference – the Western Collegiate Hockey Association – proudly marks its 59th season of competition in 2010-11. And three overriding characteristics that have continued to define the WCHA throughout its seven decades of play are history, tradition and success. Simply put, the WCHA has both developed and maintained a tradition of excellence that is second to none.

They go on....

No collegiate circuit – in any sport – can top the impressive list of national scale accomplishments of the WCHA and its member teams. Since 1951, teams representing the WCHA have claimed a record 36 NCAA Frozen Four (national) championships, finished as the runner-up another 27 times, and qualified for a semifnal berth in all but four of the last 58 Frozen Fours.

I would think with the size of Minnesota's athletic department, they could find a couple of work study students to move the one trophy that is in their trophy case.

Still waiting on that BCC. Stop letting yourself get distracted by the NCHC website and fulfill your obligations.

Your teacher buddy can forward you the response from his superiors if he so chooses. That's up to him.

Oh, come on now. You know that our trophy only moves when it's given a police escort with a rockin 'stache. And he's not available, so it stays put.

EDIT: I'll admit the write on on Duluth is pretty amusing.

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

I'm not asking him, I'm asking you. Given how proud you are of the email and the work you put into it, I'm puzzled by your reluctance to share it.

I know you feel like you have to try and throw shade at the NCHC because you want the B1G to be the premier conference in college hockey. And you feel like the B1G has to be the premier conference in college hockey because your beloved Gophers are in it and they have to be in the best conference because they are the best team. And they have to be the best team because you have such low self-esteem that you will glom onto any success of the Gopher hockey program as success of your own. The Gophers are an extension of you and they have to be the best because that will give you self worth.

But this is a reach.

The best conference in college hockey is only going to be decided on the ice. Not because of a website domain lapsing that no one visits.

You're both wrong. It's going to be decided by who has the best cheap shot against opposing teams or conferences on a message board connected to the subject matter.

Try and spin this any way you want, but bottom line is these gaffes are making whomever is running your conference look unprofessional at best, and incompetent at worst.

I don't need to "prove" the BTHC is the elite conference in college hockey. The financials will overwhelmingly show that. And that will translate onto the ice. How many teams did the NCHC have in last year's Frozen Four?

Meanwhile, the question I have for you is: Do you think your conference will still be run out of some guy's basement in 5 years? I mean why not? *They are doing a stellar job with the website and the guy's kid designs a sick logo...

Allow me to provide the response to save everyone else the trouble...

"But how many national champions did the B1G have the year before?"

Many of you were thinking that, so you're welcome. :)

To which I'll reply, anything that has happened before the announcement of the B1G and NCHC is inconsequential to which conference will be the premiere hockey conference in this new college hockey landscape.

Simple logic :)

This message is hidden because JDUBBS1280 is on your ignore list.

Everyone keeps quoting him. Someone needs to copy the Fark ignore ability where it ignores posts that quote people on your ignore list.

Re: The NCHC: Just be glad its NaCHo League

Who cares if the conference is being run out of somebody's basement for now? It won't even play its first game for another 16 months. At this point it probably has revenues coming in of about...zero. I am not going to judge a conference by how much money it is wasting 16 months before it starts generating any revenues.

I will, however, judge a conference by how many crimes its member schools are committing.
