Snow Piercer

A train carrying what's left of the human population after an apocalyptic event travels around the world. The cars are sorted by class. The poor people decide to try and take over the train by moving up cars.

I thought this was a great take on a "revolution" story. Quite a dandy surprise at the end, as far as cameos go, too.

God I hated the ending. The rest was very cool, though. And some of the fight sequences are brilliant; they used the space constraint very well.

I only had one problem with the ending:

Ok, so only the girl and the little kid are left...um, there goes humanity. Don't think she'll be banging the little kid, since I doubt they'll live long enough for him to hit puberty.

I just watched the new Star Wars teaser...it has almost nothing in it and it is already better than the prequels ;)

Complete with lens flare!

It did look very interesting. And it's good to know that Lando has a brother out there in the galaxy. :D

All I could think of was the Lando rant from Chasing Amy when I saw that dude :D

Liam Neeson alone makes the prequels better than the Hobbit...plus the Hammy acting of Samuel L. Jackson was gold!

Re: The Movie Thread: New, Rented, Whatever....I don't care

Just saw the Star Wars trailer. Good enough for me.

Did anyone really doubt that the best way to improve that series was to forcibly take it away from that hack Lucas? Abrams did wonders for the Star Trek franchise that had been cast off on an iceberg. (Did anyone see the last TNG movie? It was fking AWFUL. Which is sad considering First Contact was such a fantastic movie.) The last two Star Trek movies were amazing. This next Star Wars is going to be amazing. Even if it's not amazing, it's going to be infinitely better than those tightly coiled piles known as 1-3.

totally agree. Lucas lost his focus on the story just prior to Return of The Jedi - http://herocomplex.latimes.com/movi...2-filmmakers-george-lucas-and-gary-kurtz-wer/

It's difficult to believe the guy who directed A New Hope and American Graffiti is the same guy who directed Phantom Menace

regardless, the look and feel of the trailer above is congruous with episodes 4-6 and that alone makes me very happy

Re: The Movie Thread: New, Rented, Whatever....I don't care

I don't care what direction the Star Wars franchise heads off in (maybe that's because looking back at how much damage Episodes 1-3 caused) but it certainly looks like it's in good hands and more like Epsiodes 4-6.

All I do care about is getting the original trilogy cleaned up and released on Blu-Ray. Han shoots first. Forever. No additional CGI sequences (ala the "missing" Jabba scene in EP4). And the ghost of Sebastian Shaw instead of Hayden Christensen in Return of the Jedi dammit.

I heard that they will be releasing the ORIGINAL originals when this new movie comes out.

This. I'm not as militant about it, but I'm not paying a dime until I can purchase the theatrical remasters.

Oh, and the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" was one of the worst abortions of a line in history. Never should have been added.

Loved the concept, absolutely hated the execution. I'm actually embarrassed for Fassbender (sp?) on this one.

It was a little Matrixy (part 2) at the end, but *shrug* I really liked it.

Sorry but Abrams Star Trek movies sucked. (I only saw the first one but the second one sounded even worse) Star Trek in name only from a guy who admittedly doesnt even get Star Trek.

The teaser is fine, but I think the Star Wars freaks are trying to hard t make it into something it isnt. No one complained about the trailer for Phantom Menace either remember.
