The MCHA Thread

Re: The MCHA Thread

Wow, just did not see that coming...
Congrats to the Raiders. Represent the MCHA well in the NCAA's.

Re: The MCHA Thread

It shouldn't be a surprise at all. MSOE won the season series 3-1-1. Of course, that's so easy to say looking back at everything, but after I saw MSOE take Adrian back behind the woodshed a few weeks ago to the tune of 6-1, this should not be a shocker.

MSOE is the rightful Harris Cup champion this year. Period. No excuses, no gripes, no nothing. Adrian did not lose this game. MSOE won it. Plain and simple.

The king is dead. Long live the king.

Re: The MCHA Thread

Congratulations to MSOE Raiders and best of luck in the National Tournament.
If you take it into overtime................I like your chances !!!!

Re: The MCHA Thread

This is a surprising move to me!!!
Motivation to move???

Probably was looking for a change, and CUW administration have indicated the a "change in direction" for their hockey program was needed. I believe Jasen's name was mentioned last off season in regard to NCHA position(s) that were open.

Wow, that sure looks like a step down, doesn't it? I am guessing that CUW is willing to pay him more, but I could be wrong. He did a very good job at Marian in my opinion.

Re: The MCHA Thread

Unfortunately, the men's team at Marian is very under funded. I believe Wise left due to salary and I do not expect Marian to hire a good replacement. I see the program at Marian heading south fast....

He more then looks at it as another challenge to jumpstart a program!

Re: The MCHA Thread

Wise inherited a trainwreck at Marian and turned it around without missing a beat. When Brown left, he did so at the last minute (IIRC), and took all of his incoming class with him. I remember seeing Marian dressing 13~14 skaters for games, because that's all they had. Even with that, they were a pretty tough team, and he brought that program back near the top of the conference with consistency for the rest of his tenure.

Should be interesting to see what he can do with CUW.

Re: The MCHA Thread

Would just like to congratulate an ex- MCHA head coach on a job well done. Seamus Gregory, the coach that Lake Forest College didn't retain after the 2010-2011 season, had a great season as the head hockey coach of the Williston State (ND) Tetons at the NJCAA level. Gregory took the Tetons to the National Championship game in Rochester, NY before losing to Monroe CC. This was the first year in existence for the Williston State hockey program. I'm glad to see that given the proper support this young coach proved his metal, and he did so in less than one year:D.
