The List for the 2018-19 Season: Episode 1

Re: The List for the 2018-19 Season: Episode 1

If it's the total number of moves since undergrad, I have at least 16. Only 7 interstate. Two 1000+ mile moves by motorcycle, one with my wife on the back. Despite that, after 27 years on one place, I've accumulated way too much chit. Part of me would still love to up and leave for Equador or New Mexico or some other place new to me. With very dam little chit to weigh me down.

I hear Slap has an extra bedroom.

Moved 10 times while in Nodak between the dorms and various apartments.
ND to MN
MN to IN...current

Next will be IN to TX, GA, or IL and will probably be the last state

How do you get "Bvi" out of "Bolivia" and "Kwi" out of "Kuwait"? That's Shea Stadium* out of town scoreboard stuff.

* By Shea Conventions they would be Blv and Kwt.

Re: The List for the 2018-19 Season: Episode 1

The friend who called me Saturday night and said "HA-HA! Enjoy the outage while you're in NYC" (knowing my hotel was at 53rd and 6th) is on The List.

Me, showing up at his door minutes later and saying, "Um, you're off by at least a week; so who looked after my house when I was gone? Oh, so no one? So get me a drink, < bleep >." with a smarmy smirk and a glare, I'm on The List for that.

This utterly blows me away. From the time I graduated college to the time I bought my first house 18 years later I moved 12 times, 9 of them between states.

91 ND to NY to FL (A triple. BOOM!)
92 FL to NY
93 within NY
97 NY to MN
98 MN to ND
00 within ND
05 within ND

Ownership of four different houses (in three states) in that list.

Next state is MN, then eventually probably one more move to settle down in MN.

Re: The List for the 2018-19 Season: Episode 1

Anti-List:
Healthy, perfect daughter born on Monday
Easy (relatively) labor for mamma
Lots of family in town to help

List:
My mom, our 18-month-old, and I coming down with a stomach bug
My mom and her dad having to leave today due to inaccurate guessing at the arrival window
Only remaining family to help with sick toddler and husband is her sister, who is 20 weeks pregnant and still having terrible morning sickness.

We are quite the crew right now....
