Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

How do you know NMU goalie played outstanding>Lakers shot most the shots they took right into the guy

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

I didn't get a chance to see the game. It sounded like the Lakers played a whale of a game but were just snake bitten according to Crawford. I think they had 40 shots on goal but Crawford said it was more like 80. You have to take that as a positive how they took the play to Northern and had all those scoring chances. He also said Mahoney-Wilson played very good in net and they did everything right but win the game. Good to see him turning it around and only letting in four goals and getting his GAA down a bit.

They scored a power-play goal and didn't get a penalty the entire game. That is solid coaching and a lot of discipline. Good to see the special teams still being such a strength of this team.

I think there a lot to take from this game and they are really starting to get in the groove and the wins will come. I fully expect them to turn it around tomorrow and vault back into 9th or 10th place, depending on what the strong programs of Western Michigan and Bowling Green do.

Because i was there and watched it is how. He sure seemed to be in the right position didn't he? Not all off the shots were right at him a few were but not all. He robbed Schofield had him short side top shelf but his quick glove shut it down.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Everybody is feeling down in the dumps after another Laker debacle against Northern. That's why we need Bill and Neil Diamond to put their skirts on, grab their pom poms, and lead us in some cheers, lol. I'm sure Bill knows some fine cheers or, if not, he could borrow some from his good friend The Supreme Minister of Propaganda Bill Crawford. If you guys aren't in the mood for some cheer-leading then maybe Bill could make some posts about the useless recruits we have coming in. Or Neil could do a little hero worshiping about ole Jimbo. Preferably you two just put a sock in it and listen to the true genius of the thread; Boot Jim Roque!

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

Lakers did play alright tonight. A lot of their shots though were right at the goalie though. BMW made a lot of easy saves too, but made more tougher ones than NMU's goalie. But Beamer should of stopped that 3rd NMU goal, perhaps the 1st as well.

Also the Lakers are now in dead last. Lakers must win three in a row starting tomorrow!

You like to tell us what is wrong, BJ, but you don't tell us what the next step should be.

What should the Lakers do after they boot Roque, BJ?

Boot_Jim_Roque.........you're a broken record......speaking of putting a sock in it!!!!!

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

I am sure Joey Shawhan would take a head coaching job with Lake State .

I don't believe he would unless there was a wholesale change in the A.D. as well. He did not appreciate the way he was treated.

That seems to be par for the course up there with the way coaches and certain players in the past have been treated. Joe Shawhan will be successful wherever he goes and will get an opportunity very soon to be a head coach. Just like Frank Anzalone and the success he has had and will always continue to have.

You people week after week make excuses for your beloved Lakers and this coach. You are in last place again and haven't won a league game. Teams like Bowling Green and Western are ahead of you in the standings. You play in front of less than 2000 people at home against your rival.

You lose by 3 goals at home and yet everything is ok and things are getting better because of these awesome recruits that are coming into the program in the years ahead. Yet when they get there like many have said, not just me, they get worse.

But keep taking potshots and Frank and Francis Anzalone and totally ignore the reality of the product on the ice. I look forward to seeing the positive spin after tonight's loss to Northern and last place standing. You people are so predictable.

The Truth Is Out There....

I think Shawhan would. I am sure he would love a head coaching job again and would look at his past with Lake State as nothing but a business matter and business is business .

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

I think he would be an excellent choice but i agree with jnacc. There is a lot of hard feelings and him and his familly really like it in Marquette.

There's another way to do that. If you go to "edit profile" under "forum actions" (it's on the menu bar at the top of the Forum), you can add a user to your Ignore List. For example, I haven't seen any actual posts by BJR since I added BJR as the first entry on my Ignore List a couple of weeks ago. I know BJR still posts, because I still see a skeletal record of the fact he/she posted, but I don't see the actual text of the post. It's a nice feature of the Forum.

Coaches live to be head coaches and to turn down a head coaching job would be against everything they are striving for . Shawhan would take the job .

I'm sure he would. Joe is a Soo native, as is his wife. He has two kids currenlty attending NMU, but that is not a reason for him to stay.

Re: "The Lake Show" - LSSU Laker Hockey

I would like to see him get the job here, Joe is a winner. But even more i would like to see the Lakers come out and play some inspired hockey tonight.

How much more inspired can they play ? They had 40 plus shots,6 power plays,no powerplays against them, and so many chances to score a goal that it became comical how many they missed.
