Why?

Everybody with even a scintilla of brain activity already knew what they were all about. This brand of Aggressive Cancer has the support of 50% of the voters right now. That means years of bouncing back and forth, and even during the Dem periods we'll be continually hampered in our efforts to restore democracy by people who are terrified of offending Nazis. We can't even convince our own centrists that we need to restore everything about our vision, because working piecemeal is ineffective and makes people bored and sick of Democratic half- (quarter-, eighth-) measures. Rover honestly thinks the solution is another Clintonesque brake. Maybe a (gasp) 38% maximum tax rate.

If that's what we do when we win then obviously the people who can actually see the magnitude of the rape of this country will just abandon the Dems again as a bait and switch. The centrists believe "they have nowhere else to go," but they do: they can sit it out and they will. When you f-ck people over just a little less than the other guy, nobody's gonna vote for you. The only people who can't see this are so fat and happy that they don't really believe anybody's being f-cked over.

The only acceptable method of birth control (according to Republicans) is "Women should keep their legs closed," except when cis women do, men get angry because they're not getting any.

To prevent rape, a cis woman "shouldn't wear that dress," but cis men really want her to because it turns them on.

And of course, according to Republicans, "promise you won't have sex until marriage" is the only sex education teenagers need.

My mom hated the fact that I was given comprehensive sex ed by the public school system. So did my stepfather.

All I knew from my parents is when I was 16 was that sex was bad and if I engaged, not only was I in for punishment, I was doomed to hell. As an adult, at the church I am now, sex is actually celebrated and we can talk about the body without going "ewwww."
