I stand for hair-splitting. You can always critique logic like you can always critique grammar: it doesn't haven't bearing on the merits of the argument, just its form.

Having said which, the Ohio and Georgia laws are criminally insane.

No, just the most commonly used ones.

And most effective.

Condoms are only as effective as the user is smart. Most people are very dumb. The rhythm method is playing with fire. Pulling out is the stupidest suggestion.

Did you see the author of the Ohio bill on John Oliver last night?
“People smarter than me will determine what this means.”

Prof that these men truly care for nothing other than making women vessels.

I don't agree with the provision AT ALL - I simply stated one comment was a bit disingenuous. Has there been anything in my posting history that would suggest I'd be in favor of what they're trying to do here? How about just say, "Ok you're right they're not trying to ban all birth control, but what you do think of this proposal?" instead of overly sensitive whining about my fact checking?

They're only trying to ban the methods of birth control that give the woman the control. Defending it is out of line, even if there are "exceptions."

Yeah now his aunt can undergo investigation to see if she was the cause of the fetus death

It used to happen.

Fetus?
It's worse than that; if the mother expected a live birth, that's a dead child, a dead baby. (There's the worst psychological damage.)

As someone who has had multiple miscarriages, these potential laws throw me into a rage, and I’m likely not able to have a rational discussion. But it’s one of the most devastating things a woman can have happen and to have men in this country think it’s a good thing to investigate and punish is just absolutely sickening.

And women too, evidently.

Ideologies make smart people stupid and stupid people vicious.

Who the eff was defending it?

Not that you were wrong, but this is more accurate.

My would-be cousin had a defective heart and died in utero: genetics. But that aunt still thinks it's her fault for some reason.

One thing I think we should do as a society is do a better job of getting out there the info that roughly 25% of pregnancies result in miscarriage. If you've got 4 kids, and you didn't have a miscarriage, you beat the odds. A woman (or a man, for that matter) feeling like a miscarriage is her fault is frankly tragic, and it's kind of avoidable.

I love how when it comes to climate change, Republicans will often say they aren’t scientists, can’t trust it, etc. yet They purport to be gynecologists when it suits them.
