Man fatally shoots himself after crashing into Capitol barricade, authorities say

An unidentified man fatally shot himself after crashing a vehicle into a barricade near the U.S. Capitol early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The man drove his car into the barricade at East Capitol Street and Second Street around 4 a.m., U.S. Capitol Police said in a press release. The man exited the vehicle, which became engulfed in flames, officials said.

The man then fired several shots in the air, Capitol Police said, alerting officers to the scene. They were approaching the man when he fatally shot himself, authorities added.

No one else was hurt at the scene and Capitol Police noted that it does not appear officers fired their weapons.

Authorities said that the man apparently was not targeting any members of Congress, who are on recess until Sept. 13.

Man you must have a cast iron stomach to be able to endure even 3 seconds of FAUX News. They are clearly loving this last week because it will give them a golden opportunity to get back into the good graces of trump and his MAGAts. Their influence with him has been waning and now they are trying to re-assert themselves as the 10 million pound gorilla in the actual fake news universe.

I think those of us with a brain really, really need to stay away from the right wing propaganda machines. Yes we need to know what the traitors are saying and doing, but I think we can get that, and get it accurately, from plenty of other spaces. It is one thing to give trump oxygen by noting what he says or does, it is much more damaging though to give the propaganda machines any air to breathe.
 
Larry Hogan on ABC was carrying Trump's water AND mentioned Hillary Clinton. The entire party is in on it and no media is willing to call them on it.
 
No Republican should be permitted on a political or news broadcast. This is a terrorist organization. Round them up. We know what they are, and they have admitted it.

There have always been traitors and monsters, they simply were abjured by both parties. One party has made common cause with them. Time to take out the trash.

Watching Fox is like listening to this. It is of historical interest.

As a German, i have heard this recording a few times. It is extremly eerie to hear him talk like a normal person. Like a neighbour. His Austrian accent is almost unnoticeable, his speech could easily pass as High German for someone not paying attention. Also, his choice of words, his pronunciation is almost modern. Not "old fashioned" as you would expect someone to talk in the 1930s or -40s. And to think that this is HIM. Having a random conversation. An i am sitting here, in Germany, listening to it on an American Website decades later... it is insane how history works.

The great evils of the world were not committed the Great Men if history, or the Dramatis Personae of carefully organized speeches. They are done by "normal" people. What we see today on Fox or hear on Hate Radio will be the transcripts historians pour over in a hundred years when they try to piece together how monsters either almost, or successfully, took over America.

This is 1930. We fight to stop the US from being the Reich of a thousand awful action movies from 2050-2149. We will be this.

The accent is a giveaway, TBH.

But I'd just start with the voter rolls. Some errors will be made but, eh, self-inflicted.

I would recommend this as a primer to identify the neo-Nazi leadership. Banal. Unimaginative. Cowards kissing to be clever.

The followers, as always, are merely the C students -- farm animals humanity has bred and boned for 10,000 years.

We face a cancer. There will never be a cure. Every few centuries we must cut it out.

I didnt research if it was true or not, but Rudy told the Judge that he couldn't fly because of a minor heart operation he had. The Judge told him that they make cars and busses; John Madden seemed to have no problems.

And the *day* the Judge mailed Rudy a bus pass, Rudy was caught flying to some vacation home.
