An interesting note regarding the campaigning/advertising for the IL Gubernatorial race:

R candidate Darren Bailey has been called "Too Conservative for IL" by Dems in ads and yet is being called out as a R.I.N.O. by R's in others.

Quite the schism in the Republican Party it seems... Curious how many votes this kind of thought process will take off the table for R's....
 
Basically, if you don't bend the knee openly and loudly to Trump and the big lie, you're a RINO.


Because that's how functioning political parties work, right?

Yep, the one who was forced to step down as CEO of his own enterprises after a bunch of former employees finally complained about his rape-y, lecherous ways. A casino owner taking advantage of female staff? Who could imagine such a thing!

He's been accused of shady foreign dealings in the past too, including one that resulted in him filing a slander lawsuit, which he lost and was forced to pay the defendant's legal fees. So this is hardly a surprise.
 
I've heard so many possible explanations, but I still ahven't found a great one for why so many people worship trump. There are plenty of racists. There are plenty of actually rich GOPers. There are plenty of charismatic GOPers. There are several racist, rich, charismatic GOPers. Why him?

Dump had national exposure for 30+ years before he moved to politics.

If you are a common-man GOPer in say Georgia or Michigan, you really don't have any exposure to someone like a Governor of Texas or Montana until they start their campaign for the White House basically. But almost everyone knew Trump from TV/Movies in the 80s/90s/00s...

The politics/policy are secondary. He just needed to not say any "red flag" things that would upset "Real 'Muricans!"...
