This is interesting and I think positive.

In a break from the past, the U.S. and its allies are increasingly revealing their intelligence findings as they confront Russian preparations for a possible invasion of Ukraine, looking to undercut Russian President Vladimir Putin’s plans by exposing them and deflecting his efforts to shape world opinion.

The White House in recent weeks publicized what it said was a developing Russian “false-flag” operation to create pretext for an invasion. Britain named specific Ukrainians it accused of having ties to Russian intelligence officers plotting to overthrow President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The U.S. also released a map of Russian military positions and detailed how officials believe Russia will try to attack Ukraine with as many as 175,000 troops.

I hope they continue to do this and expose the myriad connections between rightwing think tanks, Fox and Hate Radio media and pundits, and even sitting Republican Members and the Russians. The Right in the US is thoroughly infested with Russian agents and sympathizers, partly because fascists flock together, partly because the FSB has identified, recruited, and operationalized both witting and unwitting conservatives as their useful idiots.

“Beyond parody” is probably said too often, but a Republican school district in WA just banned “To Kill a Mockingbird”, I guess for being too book-learny.
 
I gotta admit...this ridiculous need for updating cartoons and mascots is just stupid and not something that really needs to be done right now. It is funny to watch the Right go nuts about it, but it is doing us no favors. This stuff is just silly.

We're not the target demo. We're irrelevant to the conversation. Our opinions do not register. Our opposition is their signal they are on the right track.

Let the waves of liberating obsolescence wash us clean. Made free at last from consumer degradation by our oblivion -- sans greed, sans lust, sans fear, sans everything marketable.

I am not against it, but I think it adds more fuel to a fire we can't really afford right now. And honestly no LGBTQ+ person I know is worried about Minnie Mouse or how the Green M&M looks slutty or that Mr. Potato Head has that pronoun. This is the type of stuff even liberals make fun of other liberals for. Hell it sounds like something the principal on Community would do ;^)

I am 100% for better representation across all media, I am just thinking we have bigger fish to fry than Minnie Mouse and her pants.

To me this stinks of people trying to make a name for themselves with a cause, not really about truly caring about the issue. Like when they push to use LatinX even though that group abhors the term. Seems like CIS White People trying to prove they aren't as bad as other CIS White People.

Doesn't affect me though so whatever works.
