It works fine. You have to work for the votes and convince non-voters to vote. Nothing strange here.
 
If we live in a world where I am the Right Wing there is going to be ritualistic suicides from the current Center and Right. I am not even sure there are European countries where Bernie would be the "New Right" let alone his voters like me but I am definitely down for it!

Look obviously things dont shake out how logic dictates but what voting block can look at the things the GOP is standing for and support it? Obviously every non white male is already pretty much turned off because they hate everyone but they are even openly talking about sunsetting Social Security and Medicare. I mean the one thing they always had was the olds and now they are trying to alienate them. They openly are defiant against Law Enforcement cause they dare do their jobs with Trump and insult the military on the hour. So you have racists and rich fucks...

Even if we assume this charges up the base (which it wont, their base is fully charged anyways and half of them will hate this bill for various reasons) it also supercharges the elements against you. Any chance for complacency is now dead. Any chance for the local politicos to walk their stance back in silence is dead because now this becomes the first question. (do you support the national abortion ban) Plus, they are putting everyone on the record if they have to vote. (i.e. the Senate) This is a Democrat style move...not a Republican one. They usually strategize better than this.

Latino are too heterogenous to lump together. It's like saying "how do all whites vote?" We're talking about 20% of the country.

Very roughly speaking, Latinos who are butthurt about losing their dominant status in their country of ethnic origin (Cubans, Venezuelans, older Brazilians) resonate with the rightwing authoritarianism of the Republicans and suck up to them as "we're one of the good ones" to try to ward off the racism. The rest of Latinos are smarter than that and know you can't join the face-eating leopard without becoming the meal as soon as food gets scarce.

I think the false sense of traditional manly man machismo embodied by Dump and Republicans also appeals to their share of Latinx voters, same as it does to rural, God-fearing, white derps who have been screwed by globalist big industry and now lack the motivation and wherewithal to evolve with the educated parts of the country.

That may be true. You also get some blacks who fall for the GOP because they have Man in Sky Disease and they hate (and are terrified of) gays. This is also related to that pathetic machismo.

Authoritarianism is not exclusively white. There are people with defective brains in every demographic.

basically, the Rensselaer County BOE commissioner for the Republicans was arrested by the FBI for allegedly using the county online portal to print off ballots with prefilled voter info (registered voters) and giving them to candidates to bring to the voters and sign them and mail them in. The excuse? “We didn’t know it was illegal, we were taking advantage of the rules allowing absentee ballots”

Funny part is, outside of Troy and maybe Rensselaer, the county is as red as a grapefruit and the R’s would have no problem winning it. R county executive for about 30 years, majority R legislature, and for about two decades the county was home to the state SML. The mayor of Troy and Rensselaer city we’re both D, until this year when the Rensselaer mayor flipped to R by about 20 votes. That’s where this stems from. Apparently a couple who have never voted before all of a sudden voted absentee, and when the candidate showed up to collect the signatures, which were already on their ballots, they called the police.

Somebody tried to blow up the Gender Studies department at Northeastern. Gee, I wonder who?

A package exploded on the campus of Northeastern University in Boston late Tuesday, and the college said a staff member suffered minor injuries.

Authorities said another suspicious package was found near a prominent art museum and the FBI was assisting with the investigation.

The parcel that blew up was one of two that were reported to police early in the evening. Boston’s bomb squad neutralized a second package near the city’s Museum of Fine Arts, which is on the outskirts of the Northeastern campus.

NBC Boston reported that the package that exploded went off as it was being opened near the university’s Holmes Hall, which is home to the university’s creative writing program and its women’s, gender and sexuality studies program. It said the FBI was assisting the investigation.
