The GQP Thread: I'm even sick of that fuck's number and, anyway, he's gone (for now)

To be fair, for those for whom this is actually murder, and not punishing women for sex (in other words, for about 1% of anti-choicers) I have always thought that an exception for rape is a morally incoherent position. That would be like saying it is okay to murder an adult produced by rape.

I have always thought making an exception for rape is actually admitting that one's opposition to abortion otherwise is a confession that one hates the sexual agency of women.

Agreed. I fundamentally disagree with their position, but if the position is "a fetus is a human" then I understand that the manner of how the fetus/human was produced is not relevant.

Fuck 'em either way.

Fuck 'em either way.

This. Both misogyny and fetal personhood are based on magic man in the sky idiocy. Kooks can believe what they want in their homes. They can't make us suffer for their abusive upbringing and cognitive disabilities.

I have said it before...Elon Musk is a Bond Villain. He doesn't even pretend to hide it anymore. I seriously think anyone who thinks he is a genius trying to help the world should have wellness checks done.

Yeah. Its more than 1% but yeah. If you are a true believer than exceptions are hard to justify. Unless you are Jewish, as Talmudic Law (going back a loooooooooooooooooooong time) has always had exceptions because God doesn't want pregnant women to die.

And yikes...calling someone a "product of rape" is probably not going to go over well.

And then again, pregnant women Get to use the carpool lane. Claim the fetus as a dependent. Get food stamps for it. Etc.

Chris Christie cried this morning while describing Biden's semi-fascist speech. The tears were flowing. He didn't like being called out.

On MtP, Republican social media operative Matt Gorman tries to mansplain to three women on the panel that RvW isn't "in the top four of campaign issues."

Yamiche Alcindor: "Abortion comes up 90% of the time" on the campaign trail.

Claire McCaskill: It "infuriates women when they hear that."

25% of Republicans think MAGA threatens democracy.

SO STOP VOTING FOR IT THEN YOU DIPSH-TS.

Then why do 97% of them vote like they don't believe MAGAts threaten democracy? I absolutely do not buy into the notion that 25% of republicans see the leader of their party and the directions of virtually 100% of its policies and rhetoric as a "threat" to democracy.

Polls have been shown to not accurately reflect conservative thought or voting intent. Just look at how many republicans have outperformed polls in the last few elections. Now tell me how many democrats have outperformed their polling numbers during the same period. If just half the number of republicans who that poll purports to believe MAGAts are a threat declined to vote for republican candidates the party would become impotent in just one election. republicans would have strongholds in probably just 12-15 states, and half of those would be among the least populated states in the country.
