The frothing on Twitter over the Durham report is off the charts. I have not read into it but I fail to comprehend how they concluded there should never have been an investigation into Trump/Russia. The ties there are not only obvious, but they run deep.

Yeah it's funny that, despite feeling they should not have opened the investigation, they do not recommend any charges or any changes they need to make to the department. Almost like they decided on the rsult ahead of time but then couldn't come up with any justification.

They also bury that the statement that the FBI should have done some sort of assessment (which is somehow different from an investigation), instead of an investigation.

So, all in all, Durham spent a ton of money, lost an incredibly pointless prosecution, and simply reported that things should have gone (slightly) differently.

Good game, good effort.

The Republicans are calling this report a victory. More lies to spread to their moronic base.

It also directly contradicts the IG's previous report.

That said, if it isn't this, the Trump cultists will simply invent something and point to it as "evidence". Reality is not necessary.

The orange droolius could come out and say directly that he collaborated with Russia to get elected and they would just change the narrative to: "He had to do that or else the ((((DEEEP STATE))))) would have taken over the US and the world and destroyed all conservatives. So he is our savior"

First, she reads the data in the wrong order.
Then, she tries to recover by saying a big number is a surge, without providing context as to what it was before. It's like if her husband got caught exposing himself to children in a bowling alley one week, it's not necessarily a surge in him getting caught doing that unless you know how many times he did it the previous weeks.

From what I saw in Durham's report, an assessment is something that is done before an actual investigation is opened up. During the assessment, the FBI is to consider the report that has just been made to it, check to see if there have been similar reports or intelligence information that suggests something similar to the report, assess the source of the report and any of that person's sources, their possible motives, etc...

Durham was critical because instead of doing an assessment, which is part of standard FBI protocols, they just immediately opened up an active investigation.

Ok, so they - maybe - jumped the gun. And that's apparently the worst thing they found.

Yeah. Good game, good effort.

How many organizations in any context or industry or business or government could take this kind of scrutiny and only show a bunch of what are effectively clerical errors and arguably poor judgement calls?

Well that makes it all worth it then...certainly not a waste of time and money. (And lots of false narratives and headlines) So very fiscally responsible on behalf of the conservative party...

Maybe next he can look into what color pens they used. Should take about 6 years...

FBI should have investigated whether they should start an investigation
