Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

So, Hong Kong is about to become a ****show.
A bit earlier than I expected. Thought the Chicoms would wait for the generation that was alive at the handover to die off first before REALLY taking over.

One of the things I miss about the threads no longer being locked after 1,000 posts is the rotation of thread names. Time for a 6.0 version of this thread, no?

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

The most hilarious thing I've heard about us going to war again is the blaming of Obama for not addressing the ISIL threat sooner. Like that really was going to make any bit of difference or like this war is going to do anything.

I cite Maliki and Karzai as my evidence. Something the GOP fails to do.

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

I was at my dentist the other day, and he expressed an interesting opinion regarding terrorists and our 2nd Amendment rights.

He was talking about ISIS, and how they had started taking over cities and brutalizing the populace in each one as they went. He said, "if they started in city x and I lived nearby in city y, and we heard about what they were doing, all of us in the neighborhood would be armed and waiting for them by the time they reached our city limits."

He went on, "Imagine if a group from ISIS started out in [pick any city neighborhood with violent crime]. They would be lucky if any of them made it to the city limits."

That's a nice illustration of how much of a simpleton you are on any subject.

There have been allegations that Obama is not a regular attendee at the daily intelligence briefings. If he's not paying attention to the written reports, then there may be something to the "dropped the ball" allegations.

"local city winds up with all of their heads on pikes as they tried to stand up to brutal terrorist group as they were hopelessly out gunned. More at 10 pm"

Or maybe they could lead with, "Local militia brings AR-15s to fight terrorist group armed with AK-47s and 50-cal machine guns mounted on trucks. How many wound up being beheaded? Find out at 10"

Or how about "Local group of armed men who have never pointed a gun at another human being winds up facing off with a group of war-hardened, trained terrorists. See the comically lopsided results at 10".

Frenchmen in a castle face off against a group of battle hardened terrorists. Unusual weapon deployed. Film at 11.

Black knIght faces off against battle hardened terrorists. Results not pretty. Viewer discretion advised.

This is fun.

"local terrorist group makes an attempt at Guinness world record for beheadings in under 60 seconds. This and Ebola at 10."

"Streets run red and it isn't even a color run weekend. Details next.".

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

"Local town who vowed to fight terrorists. Why our calls for comment went unanswered after the break."

Yeah, and Bush ignored the memo. Who cares? Waste of money, all of it.

In one breath Bush is "the worst president ever (with apologies to the giant from Plains)" in the next he sets the standard against which you favorably compare General der Panzertruppe von Manteuffel (from Chicago). Wish you'd make up your mind.

Steve Urkel meets battle hardened terrorists. "Did I do that? " See the astounding footage after your local news.

Town hires battle hardened terrorists to curb wild pig population. See unexpected results uncovered by our Eye Team investigative staff right after the weather.

Estate of P. L. Travers uncovers unknown Mary Poppins book. "Mary Poppins and the Battle Hardened Terrorists". Reports have Walt Disney studios negotiating for film rights with Carrie Underwood playing the title role.

Fluid Borders, an international peace organization, presses U.N. to declare 100,000 square miles of Middle East as a "Terrorist Sanctuary" to help preserve the rights of terrorists to live their lives without interference from those who wish to encroach upon their natural habitat.

The point you insist on ignoring time after time, Pio, is that Bush left us with a runaway train wreck, both financially and geopolitically, and even Barry Goldwater would have struggled to get it back pointed in the right direction moving forward instead of backwards. So when the crying Nancies go on about a skinned knee, some of us wonder if they were napping when they almost lost a leg.

This. Well put.
