The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

Now I'm a bit confused. Are there people here who are saying that it isn't all that important to protect the US from another terrorist attack on US soil?

We can only react to intelligence reports. This is a battle we cannot permanently win without sacrificing a lot of personal liberty - increased surveillance, increased suspect profiling, curtailing religious speech (e.g. - smothering any Imams we don't like, which will only serve to inflame the Muslim community at-large), closing our borders, restricting the right of American citizens to freely travel abroad, etc. all of which is the short-term goal of Islamist terrorism (the ones with at least half a brain know that pan-Islamic world rule is not realistic in the near future).

I'm all for well-targeted airstrikes, Team 6/Delta Force special ops missions in conjunction with similar military organizations of allied nations, etc. But how far are you willing to go? Are you ready for military-police presence on every street corner, mandatory cavity searches of every air traveler, random/warrantless searches at roaming vehicle checkpoints without probable cause, etc.? I'm not.

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

Simply put, other countries need to learn to solve their own problems ...

Then we all should be happy.
The pseudo-state of ISIS/ISIL is solving their own (too many infidels) problems ... one beheading at a time. I worry they'll make it a trans-oceanic road show.

What the left-leaners are missing here to torment the right* is the obvious issue: Who's buyin'? The US credit card is maxed out, right?

*No charge for that one, boys. It's on the house.

Might be time to blow the dust off this. It's ironic that all the baboons who slap their chests the loudest and hurl their poo with the greatest righteous indignation happened to have "other priorities" when it came to them serving.

How many fast attack or ballistic missile submarine crewmen have you trained in your life? ;)

The problem with power is sometimes, even when you really don't want to, you have to use it to remind people who has it.

Well, if we're going to start casting aspersions and doubt upon all of our claimed backgrounds around here...

What are you talking about? I'm pretty honest about starting my own cult as well as economic philosophy.

He uttered, through clenched teeth.

"0bama", is that really what passes for Republican humor now? I liked it better when hardcore righties were calling him, "The One" - much funnier. Even "The Half-rican", was at least a racist guilty pleasure.

I call him Obummer. Do I make the cut?

Soo...lemme get this straight. You're arguably the most baselessly critical poster on how we're doing our business. And you're NOT even American?

Funny how we don't hear about you hyperventilating over your inability to solve your own problems.

I think that after living in this country for twenty years (legally) I have a right to speak my mind about the lack of leadership by this or any other administration.

As for issues back home, why "hyperventilate" here when most of you don't give a rat's butt about what happens north of the border?

And at least Prime Minister Harper has a pair. ;)

I was in "Old 51" when Trudeau invoked the War Measures Act against the FLQ*. A very pleasant surprise.

*I was in the AF and drawing a check from CBC.

In the alternative, one could chose to be a draft dodging piece of sh*t like Bill Clinton. Lying to Colonel Holmes about his intention to become an ROTC cadet at Arkansas, getting his 2S deferment, then a high lottery number, followed by his famous "thank you for saving me from the draft" letter. You all are such hypocrites on this subject, elevating that self-serving a*s-hole John Kerry (who dishonored an entire generation of American servicemen to advance his career) to Audie Murphy and Alvin York status.

"All" the baboons, kemo sabe?

George W. Bush is my kind of war hero. Puts Kerry to shame.
