The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

What does "bad" mean? All the things that happen in a plane crash are physics, from the engine failing to the little girl in seat 12D's heart stopping.

Nature knows no morals. For "bad" things to happen you need something to evolve and create "bad" as a concept. As far as the wind and the rain are concerned, nothing is objectively good or bad, it just is.

We are "why" "bad" things happen, because we are why things are conceivably "bad." Likewise for good.
The Facts Of Life

Life is not fair.
No one is exempt from death.
Physics rules the universe and biology rules life.
The universe does not care.
The only constant in life is change.
There is always a choice.
Wishing never makes it so.
A person can't exceed their limits.
A person is responsible for their own happiness.
It is impossible to change the character of another.

You forgot:

To make an alteration in the evolvement of an organic life system is fatal. A coding sequence cannot be revised once it's been established.

Though if through genetic change you could eliminate cancer most folks would agree with it (then see Law of Unintended Consequences).

Nothing the god of biomechanics wouldn't let you into heaven for.

I find it ironic that many of the people in here that say, for example, men should stay out of women's issues because we aren't women and know nothing about what they need (which is absolutely true) have no issue making the same decisions for groups of people thousands of miles away. That they make these "moral arguments" based on maybe 10% of the information filtered through multiple biases and presented often by a media that is, at best inept only makes it more laughable.

Going back a few pages a few asked why Israel is bombing and not sending in special forces or going door to door with boots on the ground...I can give you reason #1 BECAUSE THE WORLD WOULD GO APESH#@! Military personnel from Israel stepping foot in Gaza, a country that would never sanction such a move, going door to door looking for terrorists? Yeah that is certainly gonna go over well with the West where half the people think Israel is the big bully and already acting in a fascist dictator style illegally occupying Palestinian lands and oppressing its people. (the irony that many of you advocating stuff like that rip the US for doing the same thing in Iraq shows how crazy this is)

Are you guys all high? Look at how the world reacts to Israel fighting back after Hamas breaks a cease fire by trying to sneak troops in tunnels to cross the border! Any move were special forces enter Gaza would be **** near an act of war.

I am no defender of Israel (remember OP did say I am Anti-Semitic :p ) but bombing is the best option out a bunch of bad options.

Despite basking in the glow of your pose as "super Jew," I never said or implied you were anti-Semitic. Is it too late for you to get some refresher courses at Hebrew School? There is no unanimity of opinion in Israel, let alone among Jews around the world on these issues. But the people who count, the voters in Israel, keep returning Netanyahu to office, whether you like it or not. Besides, you gotta like a guy who today told the "community organizer" to blow it out his a*s. But you're right about one thing: a bloody, door to door Okinawa-like ground campaign in Gaza, with enormously high Israeli casualties, is exactly what the b*st*rds would want.

Except that no war has ever been won solely from the air or from the sea. You still have to send ground troops in to conquer the ground.

Hiroshima & Nagasaki? Except it took a lot of bleeding on Japanese held territory to get to a position to drop the A-Bombs.

Yeah I get that but right now they arent actively at war. And if it was during a time of cease fire or when one was being negotiated the world would go nuts. (We know how France feels already)

Do you really think if Israel had done what Hamas did to break the Egyptian Negotiated Cease Fire that the world would have been ok with it? If so I got some cheap Ocean Front property in Iowa to sell you!

Checking out the climate change thread to see if I should take you up on that offer.

Because we're not terrorists?

Was posted tongue in cheek.

Would've been awesome if the response to that squeaky, "Don't second guess me!" threat was, "Sure thing, Beebs. We'll keep that in mind when we review the United States military aid budget for Israel next year."

But of course, it won't happen. Obama may be a lame duck, but he would never dare pi55 off the largely Dem-voting Jewish community in this country. Nor, apparently, would Congress ever agree to make needed cuts to foreign aid or the military budget.

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

Obama's relationship with Israel is shakier than any President I recall. Israel is still our strong ally, but there's a lot more doubt about the relationship given Obama's cumulative actions, starting right off when he went on that speaking tour of the Arab world, but skipped Israel, his supposed best ally in the region.

Re: The Global War on Terror 5.0: Putin on the Risk

Israel is still our strong ally

Which makes it especially curious that it spends more time trying to manipulate the American political system than any other nation on earth.

Israel is a solid ally in the sense that they take our money and tell us to fuck off in the same breath (c.f., Saudi Arabia)

Here's something for Pio to pass the time with.
