i definitely think Beckerman and Bedoya are in there because of their defensive abilities. Bedoya is great at tracking back and helping the defense. It's classic Klinsmann, start with a lineup that is least likely to f up and open up the game later if needed with Diskerud, Johannsson, Zusi or Wondo.

btw even though i admit our defense doesn't help howard all that much, i don't think howard has played his best for us in the biggest games. just my opinion.
