Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

So is this considered a dumpster fire yet?

Also, I would not want to be a couch in Brazil for the next few days...

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

Bill Belichick thinks it is too soon for the Germans to pull up.

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

Seeing how I may be the only North Dakota fan in the thread right now, tradition states when you hit 7 you must start the ...

"We want 10! We want 10!" chant.

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

I'm trying to come up with a comparison for America.

All I'm getting is that in some alternate universe there's a hybrid of the Great Depression and Great Recession and the government forgets the TVA and auto bailouts and instead decides to put all money into building basketball arenas to host the Summer Olympics, but puts them in South Dakota, desert in New Mexico and the Louisiana Bayou. Then the Dream Team ends up getting blown out like 96-42 to Lithuania.

It would work better if other countries actually played American football so we could get some comparison to emotional investment that Brazil has for soccer.
