The definitive tournament speculation thread

Re: The definitive tournament speculation thread

Less than one hour to go. Where will the anguished screams of injustice be heard from??

Who will join Adrian, Manhattanville and a host of others whose words of anguish will once again echo that immortal phrase -- We wuz robbed!!!??

Re: The definitive tournament speculation thread

Do to the bad weather and Plattsburgh State being closed today, the NCAA has decided to delay the release of the brackets until 9am tomorrow.

No class today! Wahoo!

Snow day AND the bracket is released in 44 minutes! It's definitely been a great start to my day. :)

Re: The definitive tournament speculation thread

I am really surprised that the NCAA was able to keep this under wraps this year. Not even WikiLeaks was able to get ahold of the bracket.

Re: The definitive tournament speculation thread

I need to ask this, and I don't mean to be really negative to all of you guys who have done excellent bracketology analysis in the weeks leading up to today. But no one had Superior getting in the tournament (See Chris Lerch's blog for the most recent example). That's like our NYC weathermen ultrahyping a snowstorm down here that leads to flurries (or vice versa).

So now that it seems that a 12-loss team with a 57% winning percentage is getting in the tournament, how in the world does Superior get in the tournament over some of the other schools we thought and expected would get in? What do you think changed over the weekend?

BTW - how much snow actually fell in Plattsburgh?

That's because Julian Assange is in the slammer. How much white stuff did Plattsburgh get ?

That is because they are all passed out a long night night of drinking and pulling names out of a hat will do that to you LOL :D Rumor has it somebody played a joke with the names in the hat and Brockport is in and Oswego out

It is still coming down pretty good right now and I am about 35 minutes west of Plattsburgh. Over a foot and a half and counting here.

Can't look it up right now but what was the comparison with Castleton and UWS....

Re: The definitive tournament speculation thread

Using the criteria that selected UWS every team in the ECAC-W should have made it

For what it's worth...I called a 7-4 with Superior in. Am I right? 15 minutes...

With Superior getting in, I'm reminded of Hurricane Charley in 2004. 4 hours before landfall, they were predicting a strong Category 2 making landfall in the Tampa Bay area. Less than 2 hours before landfall, the NWS suddenly changed the projection to a Strong Category 4, making landfall near Ft. Meyers. The Tampa Bay area had been nearly completely evacuated... Ft. Meyers was totally unprepared. NWS Meteorologists started using the term "secret wind" to explain their gaffe. What will Carey, Rennell, and NUProf come up with to explain their missing UWS? :D

Not there, I don't know. Bu the projection is 15-20 by this afternoon, making it one of the top 5 snowfalls in Champlain Valley history, and my mother's office closed for the 3rd time in 20 years.
