  • The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways. Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar. We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.

The Countries: Forget it, Burkina Faso, Michigan is still the worst.

Elon has the right to suspend or remove anyone he wants from Twitter. It's a private business.

It's the fact that people are so stupid they believe him when he says he's some sort of free speech advocate that's the problem. He's not.

No one in their right mind that isn't a Nazi should be using or having a twitter account. Period.

They’re likely on multiple social media platforms, trying to reach as many people as possible, even if only a couple dozen of their intended audience are still active on NazTweet.
I get that...but as long as they stay around they keep Twitter relevant. Its the same thing with media types or whatever...you cant complain about how much something sucks and is damaging the things you care about and yet keep using it. If there are no alternatives that is one thing, but if you have other places to post your news or information do so. Its like people who whine about mainstream media but make sure to do their weekly 5 minute hit on CNN or NBC.

Twitter is already pretty much irrelevant. I heard a month ago that the Nazis were complaining that they don't get as much engagement anymore because lefties have quit and/or switched to Bluesky.

Yeah and the Nazis go to Bluesky and get instantly blocked because people have constantly updated lists about it. Basically just subscribe and it cleans out your feed of anyone who fits certain profiles.

I'm not on Bluesky, but reading replies on there I can usually see a small handful of obvious bots. I assume those accounts are flagged pretty quick.

Generally yes, but it's kind of a self-determined level that you want. You can subscribe to a whole bunch of blocklists, but then you're at the whims of the people who run them. For instance, my account got listed as "Scammer" by one account who seems to devote a very large amount of time to creating these lists. her algorithms are sketchy but it just illustrates the issues.

My personal preference is to use Skywatch Blue and see labels or "Spoiler Warn" accounts that are flagged as amplifiers, follow farmers, accounts that reference MAGA in their handle or bio, terfs, trolls, etc. I also spoiler hide posts that have fundraising links, links to gambling, etc. You have options to not use specific rules, warn (basically make you click to view), or just hide those posts/accounts entirely. So it is pretty comprehensive and works well.

I'll block chuds and assholes as I come across them, but I don't subscribe to any block lists. I also mute words both temporarily ("Severance" until I get to watch the season finale) and permanently (some slurs, etc.)

The reply-guy-polite-disagreement-bots are probably the only issue right now that is somewhat hard to automatically detect. But you can pretty quickly tell which accounts those are. Skywatch Blue does have a filter for these accounts too, but it doesn't always catch them since they're so cheap to setup. But it's better than 99% of social media moderation out there.

The 4 main bridges were completely shut down by protests and the cops gave up fighting them. The motorcade was definitely not headed to a meeting.
