I'm not on Bluesky, but reading replies on there I can usually see a small handful of obvious bots. I assume those accounts are flagged pretty quick.
Generally yes, but it's kind of a self-determined level that you want. You can subscribe to a whole bunch of blocklists, but then you're at the whims of the people who run them. For instance, my account got listed as "Scammer" by one account who seems to devote a very large amount of time to creating these lists. her algorithms are sketchy but it just illustrates the issues.
My personal preference is to use Skywatch Blue and see labels or "Spoiler Warn" accounts that are flagged as amplifiers, follow farmers, accounts that reference MAGA in their handle or bio, terfs, trolls, etc. I also spoiler hide posts that have fundraising links, links to gambling, etc. You have options to not use specific rules, warn (basically make you click to view), or just hide those posts/accounts entirely. So it is pretty comprehensive and works well.
I'll block chuds and assholes as I come across them, but I don't subscribe to any block lists. I also mute words both temporarily ("Severance" until I get to watch the season finale) and permanently (some slurs, etc.)
The reply-guy-polite-disagreement-bots are probably the only issue right now that is somewhat hard to automatically detect. But you can pretty quickly tell which accounts those are. Skywatch Blue does have a filter for these accounts too, but it doesn't always catch them since they're so cheap to setup. But it's better than 99% of social media moderation out there.
