Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Back when the Sunday Night Sportcenter was an hour and a half and it was Keith Olberman and Dan Patrick I would not only watch it at night, but in the morning before school as well.

I like how in ESPN's coverage of the NHL skills competition, they had to reference and show Dwight Howard with a Superman cape when they showed Patrick Kane wearing one. Because, you know, I can't conceive of the concept of Superman and his cape unless I see how it relates to the ****ing NBA.

Just had to show one more way that the white man is taking things from the black man...

10 minutes...going on the assumption that mentioning Crosby counts as mentioning the Penguins.

It's like NBC's big 7. One of the following teams HAS to be involved in the Sunday afternoon game: Washington, Boston, NY Rangers, Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh, & Philadelphia. Most likely it'll be one member of the big 7 against another.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Anyone hear that Blake Griffin made a slam dunk shot last night?

In all fairness, it was a pretty cool dunk, and I won't even turn on SC during the NBA season. Though I'm sure they have found a way to overplay it beyond imagination.

Nutty as it is, NBC likes ratings. Those teams guarantee big (as far as hockey goes) numbers. Dallas vs Phoenix isn't going to get it done.

They overplayed Lebron riding a bike to the game yesterday.

Not directly ESPN related, but still amusing.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I don't know if this has been discussed or not in this thread, so forgive me if I'm bringing up old stuff. And, I know the MLB season is a couple months off, but I was wondering what you all think of ESPN's "Strike Zone Box?" The one that they hang right over home plate in front of the catcher. I cannot watch ESPN MLB broadcasts when they use this--they don't use it all the time. But, to me, it is annoying and distracting, and I want them to remove it from in front of the catcher. I was wondering what the consensus among the rest of you is regarding ESPN's use of the "Strike Zone Box?" I've tried e-mailing ESPN to no avail.

It's just another way of trying to tell the umpires that they suck (when in all reality, they do OK). It'll probably become the norm, just like the first down line. Thankfully the annotated puck didn't get far. ;)
