Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

ESPN still recognizing Fighting Sioux as UND's nickname. Said it on the Not Top Ten during the post game fight with Minnesota. Not really a complaint, I think it's pretty cool actually.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Chris Kluwe has taken aim at Skip Bayless on Twitter, and he's not pulling any punches. It is quite awesome.

"I mean, how much horse cock do you have to gargle to be that bad at your job @RealSkipBayless? #thatshowyoutrollsomeone #icandothisallday"

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I'd like to have a beer with Kluwe just to hear some of his thoughts.

bbdl could put in some more work and have that happen. Kluwe agreed to come out with us for a beer or two, if his wife could come. bbdl said that was fine, but never followed up.

Glorious.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

To borrow a Facebook friend's quote... "Hockey is the Ron Paul of sports."

(Not a political endorsement from me.)
That's good :D

You figured it would get a little more coverage than that. Oh well that is why I have NHL Network :)

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

This is basically everything I already knew about ESPN. I don't watch SportsCenter anymore because it's become endless "analysis," no scores, and a 60 minute commercial for their other programming. Honestly surprised they didn't mention the EPL more than the NHL.

What did they show on SportsCenter before this "endless analysis"?

Highlights, sports news, interviews with athletes. Somewhere along the way some producer decided that rather than talking to the players themselves, they could hire retired players to talk about the current athletes. That way the athlete in question can't offer unscripted viewpoints. The "expert" former athlete or columnist could parrot the company line because they are paid shills.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Well, the change in SportsCenter occurred when they went "live" for the morning SC... They needed more filler for that... Apparently those of us that would watch the same re-run 2-3 times wern't watching enough...

ESPN crashes a Jeep through Joe Paterno's casket:

I used to watch that same SportsCenter until noon.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I only lived in a dorm for one year, but I remember SportsCenter coming on somewhere around 7am and the channel not changing until about 3pm for TNT primetime in the daytime. Loved me some Las Vegas. :)

I'd love to know what percentage the Penguins' 5 mentions were of the 13.5 minutes.
