The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I always liked the half-assed morning show back when I was in the Twin Cities. Then again, I was a teenager and therefore stupid.

I used to listen to 93X exclusively. Then I grew up. (Which is not to say you can't be grown up and listen to it. There's just WAAAAAAYYY too much pop rock now instead of true alternative rock.)

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I wish AM1500 could get Korzo on every morning, love his Sunday morning show.

Oh I completely agree. He's probably the best sports guy I've ever heard on the radio. (Except for his latest streak of insisting college players get paid. But at least he argues it intelligently.)

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I like the Powertrip most days. Some days it isn't very good, but others I think it is very good, so usually just roll with it. I used to listen to the half assed morning show, but I really don't like the music anymore, and KQ is ok, but I like to get some sports news on the way to work, so Powertrip is really the only option.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I listen to Mike and Mike on the radio on the radio during the drive in because nothing better is on.
Get XM. The hockey morning show is far better. The soccer show is better. The college football show is better. Hell, Radio Romania is better.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Some of them have been excellent -- so much so it's hard to believe ESPN had anything to do with them. The Gretzky one blew, though, which was a big disappointment.

Pony Excess was my favorite. I just knew the hockey one was going to stink because ESPN had it's name attached to it.

Silence is better.

Aren't they mostly documentaries that have been made and ESPN is just airing them (and selling them as a package)?

That explains it.

I was honestly surprised the first time I saw one (I forget which, maybe that skateboard guy) that it was completely lacking in the syrupy pablum that is the hallmark of TWSL.

I'll give ESPN credit tonight, showing all four of the MLB games with meaning tonight on the season's final day.

I'm happier with my $15 a month. XM is a scam.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Will someone tell Stuart Scott he looks absolutely ridiculous?

A bow tie? Earring? Those fugly glasses?

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

I'm now looking forward to seeing if ESPN created a new Boston curse with their magazine. Seriously, blow a 9 game lead, lose to Buffalo. The Celtics are older than fark now, much less when the NBA comes back in 2015. We're basically now waiting on Tim Thomas' groin to shred itself to pieces.
