Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

What is the issue with Lapanta? I've been reading about the strong negative reaction on a play by play forum.
His voice grates on me - fake broadcaster voice - and he speaks too slowly for PBP, causing him to get behind in the play call or try to make up for things by inaccurately describing things at times. I'm sure others have longer, more complete lists.

I'm just glad Melrose is still around. Who else could find a way to mistake Michigan State for both Western AND UofM during the tournament?

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

So I was watching ESPN this morning (normally, I don't watch it, but it wasn't my choice) and they were talking to Stephen A. Smith. Stephen A. Smith said LA was buzzing because of the Lakers and the Clippers.......and the Kings. I didn't know he knew what hockey was.

I know, I know...someone probably fed him the line and he didn't know what he was saying. :D

Yes. TV Voice. His style and actual commentary isn't bad. But that f*ing voice drives me up the wall. FSN/Wild actually DELAYED the announcement of his hiring because of backlash.

Last night's NCAA women's championship lacrosse match was moved from ESPNU to ESPN News in favor of a softball super regional (round of 16) game. A bit of karmic redemption for lacrosse.

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

Somebody from CHN was watching SportsCenter to see when highlights of the Indianapolis 500 would air. 38 minutes into the show they ran all of 20 seconds. Big day for Indy Car.

He's terrible. How this guy graduated from doing interviews in the left field bleachers at Twins games is beyond me. It's like giving Robbie Inkydinky the job.

There is no way that the Indy 500 isn't the lead story the evening after it ran. No way. Terrible.

This is why many of us have stopped watching sports center. http://dalyplanet.blogspot.com/2012/05/sportscenter-unwatchable-hour.html

Re: The "Complain About ESPN" Thread

What I find odd is what some of you are saying about the lack of Indy 500 coverage. Wasn't that one broadcast on ABC, and therefore more important to ESPN?
